Firstly, 1148 is lovely! it’s so elegant and classic.

I bought my gown from AA and had a nice experience in terms of trying on the gowns. They were very respectful of my price range and didn’t pressure me to try on anything over that range, and several attendants came over and gave feedback/helped with getting everything on each dress “just right.”

My only concern is that my attendant measured me for my dress, but then some girl “in charge” came over and was like “there is no way she is that size!”   She measured me again and said I needed a size smaller.  I really don’t trust those numbers (I KNOW my hips are bigger than the number she got) and questioned those measurements throughout the purchase process, but she insisted it’s the right size.  I’m REALLY worried I will be bulging out of my dress, but I finally agreed to order the size they suggested because I felt silly insisting that I was bigger.

…So, my final review of AA will be when the dress comes in. I am terrified that it will not fit, even after exercising my butt off!!

I haven’t used the actual AA store but my bridesmaids wore AA dresses and they worked out well – they looked nice and they were only about $120-140 each (they wore different styles).

I hope you both have luck with your choices – it’s definitely not a part of the wedding you want to have to worry about!

Your dress is gorgeous!

I got my dress at AA and so did my BM’s.  So far, my dress is fine.  I have it and it’s getting altered right now.  I did have some issues with customer service at the signature store.  Just things like when my dress came in, I called to see what day it came in so I knew when to pick it up (you have to pick it up within 2 weeks of arrival) and the girl would not tell me the date and kept telling me if I didn’t get it in 2 weeks, they would send it back.  Um, I paid for it, you better not send it back.  I had to fight with her for about 5 minutes before she finally told me what day the dress came in so I knew how long I had (the store is over an hour and a half from my home so I can only get there on the weekends).

Also, two of my Out of Town BM’s had an issue at another sig store when they went to try on BM’s dresses.  They didn’t know they needed an appt so when they showed up, the lady actually yelled at them for not having an appt.  So make sure you make an appt, no matter what you are going there for!

I would be cautious with some of the AA bridesmaid dresses.  I wore one of their separates in a wedding.  The top was 6338 and had several stays/bonning in the front.  By the middle of the evening my body heat had “melted” the plastic stays into an L shape, which poked me in the ribs.  I ended up with bruises.  The rest of the dress was awesome, but I’d be careful with anything that has “boning” in it.

I’m trying on some AA wedding dresses next week; however we don’t have an AA store in my area so I won’t be able to tell you about the store, but I can tell you about the dresses. . .next week.

I have ordered my dress recently from AA signature store and it was a wonderful experiece, they were very helpful and gave me all the time I needed. I am still waiting for my dress tho, so we will see how it goes. However, I think it depends on every store.

My suggestion would be take an appt during the week instead of weekends , that way the store wont be as busy and they should have all the focus on you.

Hey, I wore 1148. Good choice. 🙂 I loved my dress, it was well-made, fit me perfectly and needed no alterations other than a bustle. However, I purchased through an independent salon, and have no experience of the signature stores. Also, I don’t know anything re: quality of bridesmaid dresses.

hopefully yours was a one time negative event with them. i tried on several dresses there and the help was always very polite and did everything they could for me but by the time i got ready to order my dress about 6 months later it was discontinued

last summer i also bought a bridesmaid dress from them and it was a nice dress it was heavy and had nice details. it didn’t seem cheap or flimsy. mine was right at $200 after taxes etc.

now i didn’t get any alterations or anything else done so i can’t tell you about that but i think my local store contracts that out so that might be an issue but overall i had a good experience.
