I am thinking of ordering the Alfred Sung D500 style for my rehearsal dinner (pic below) and I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this label’s sizing? The size chart on various websites doesn’t seem to be very consistent. Are the dresses sized similar to off the rack North American labels at stores like Macy’s, J Crew and Banana Republic or are they similar to higher fashion brands or wedding dress sizing? There can be a discrepancy of a couple of sizes between the two systems so I wanted to be sure before ordering. Man I wish that we would just adopt one size system!!
Edit: the picture won’t upload, so here is a link: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/d500/#.T0-P4COYOsM — colour Barcelona

I dont know how much help my comments will be to you – I dont know how the sizing runs for this designer but I would err on the side of ordering a larger size – you can always take it in. Trust me I know – I was a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding and with two weeks to go I couldnt get the zipper up on my dress. I didnt gain weight – I just ordered it a size smaller than I should have and literally had to starve myself for those two weeks leading up theie wedding. I was able to get it zipped in the end – but so not worth it!! Is there somewhere you can try on any of this designer’s dresses to judge a size??

Thanks ladies. I did see the sizing charts, on some of the websites that sell this label they seem to be a bit different. It should be fine though. I think I will take kristiew417 ‘s advice and order a size up and then I will be certain to have enough room. I can always have it taken in a bit!
