- Wedding: August 2013
We have chosen to go with mismatched, floorlength Alfred Sung dresses in dupioni silk for the BMs in our wedding. The thing about it is, we have a very specific blue, and the more I think about it, the more I think the royal blue might actually be way too bright. The colour we’re going for is the colour in the very centre of a peacock feather, which I have painstakingly matched all of our linens, etc. to. (As in, I have carried around a feather to make sure it matches.) Some places call this sapphire, some places call it royal, some places call it peacock… you get my drift.
The Alfred Sung website makes the royal look like a match, but I’ve seen photos here on the Bee of the royal in dupioni and it just looks SO bright – we’re going for more of a deep tone. I’m going to attach a photo of a peacock feather for reference, and can anyone who’s seen these in person put my mind at rest? I’m nervous about ordering sapphire damask because obviously it will have a damask pattern and that’s not at all in our scheme, but it matches the colours maybe it would be better? (With that said, I haven’t seen any photos of sapphire damask.)
We want to order by Tuesday, so I really need to stop worrying about this!
Thanks, bees! (Also, I’m sorry if the photo comes out huge – I always resize, then when I hit post, it goes right back to its gigantic size.)
