So we are renovating our basement so we can move in before the wedding and we have 3 cats and a dog. Diesel (dog) is going to have his little area and so we thought it would be fair to have an area for the cats as well. We wanted a nice tower for them and the ones we kept seeing at the pet stores just didn’t do it for us, soooo…. we made our own! Now keep in mind it still needs to be finished but we got more carpet today to finish it off tomorrow. For now I give you what we have done and will update once it’s complete. I totally love it.

Here’s Shade and Grizzly testing it out:

And Grizzly checking out the middle bed:

Our other cat Felix doesnt want to check it out yet lol I guess he’s waiting for it to be all done hehe

awww that’s so awesome you built your own! I have a large cat tower for my two cats and they absolutely love it (have had it for over 2 years). I always tell other people to get cat towers because cats really do seem to love them! =)

That’s awesome! I’ve been wanting to make one for our cat, but with limited apartment space and only one cat who doesn’t have claws, I’m not sure how much it would be used. She’ll just have to be happy with the window seats for now haha.I did a lot of research on making one though, and yours has turned out great so far!

@bestbuddies: Make sure you have some kind of design in mind. We drew it (although it didn’t really look like much lol). We used a staple gun for the carpet to stay on the wood boards and glue for the carpet to stay on the tube itself. Fiance put some wood for support around the tube as well – here’s a pic to show you what I mean. Those gave better support and it also helps to staple the carpet when you cover the tube to the wood pieces, we only glue in between to make sure it’s not going no where. Hope this helps a bit

@Lacelibs: Thank you, you could always do a smaller version on the bottom floor like mine, it will give your cat a little house, a toy to play with a scratch post ๐
@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Thanks, I def recommend it ๐

Awesome job! This has been on our list of projects for a long, long time. I’ll have to show my husband your pics and hopefully he’ll be “inspired” ๐ Can’t wait to see the finished project!
