I totally understand that you don’t want to hurt feelings but I guess I am left wondering why you would choose all children to participate in the wedding?  Just some personal ideas: I thought that the point of having adults in your wedding was to first help you with all the wedding prep stuff.  But most importantly, to me these adults stand up as witnesses to confirm their blessing of sorts on your marriage.  I choose attendants who would not only support my marriage, but down the road even if we needed any help or support, these people would love us and help out no matter what.

But to answer your questions:

*How can I acknowledge the sisters/cousins/best friends beforehand since they wont be participating? Ask them to be honorary Bridesmaid or Best Man.

*What can my ring bearer do other than carry a pillow? I had my two ring bearers walk down together with my Flowergirl because they wouldn’t have made it down the isle without her.

*Flower girls/maids I have noticed at most wedding the little girls don’t throw very many flowers if any actually make it to the ground so what is an alternative for them?  Does the venue where you are having the ceremony even allow you to do something like this?  I know a lot of places dont

I found a really nice other than a ring pillow, box. On etsy. Message me if you want it.

Also, in stead of throwing flowers, why not do seed paper? If it’s outside that is. Then they just grow as flowers there.
