I want to make a jar filled with ideas for dates. I’m looking to do some new and exciting things. Our normal is usually a trip to the mall then the movies followed by dinner. I live in Baltimore,MD so I want things that would be close to me and possible to do in a day without spending the night anywhere. So far the ideas I have are:
Walters Art Museum
Renaissance Festival
Tysons Corner (huge fancy mall in VA that I’ve never been to)
National Mall in Washington DC
Shenandoah Caverns in VA
Anyone have any other ideas? Whether they are generic or specific to an area it doesn’t matter. Thank you!
Ps if this is posted in the wrong board I apologize. No one reads the baltimore board so I didn’t want to post it there. Lol

I’m also from bmore!
– hiking at Rock State Park to see the King and Queens Seat
– Baltimore Aquarium and then out to lunch or dinner in the Inner Harbor
– take the metro to DC and walk around the museums there or go to the zoo
– buy a bus ticket to go to NYC for the day. Megabus is usually pretty cheap if you book it in advance.
– walk around Havre de Grace along the bay and grab dinner at Macgregors or the Tidewater Inn, which are both on the water. Or the Larrapin, which usually has live music on the weekends.
Not sure what specifically you are interested in doing but hope that helps! 🙂

Andrea718: after brainstorming for awhile I came up with a bunch more. The aquarium, zoo and dc are now on the list as well. The bus trip to nyc sounds fun. Do they bring you back the same day or is it an overnight trip? I can’t stay anywhere overnight due to my parents watching my son.

day trips from baltimore:
harpers ferry, annapolis, gettysburg, st michaels, gunpowder state park,
In baltimore, there is so much:
museums, baltimore blast, baltimore orioles, parks etc.
my first date with DH was american visionary arts museum and you can usually find tickets on groupon. one of my favorite museums.
and i take megabus all the time to new york. there are buses almost every hour. so you pick the time. if i am going up for the day, i take the 7:30am up and the 7 or 8pm back depending what i have going on. it;s a long day but you can fit a lot in.

You can come back the same day.. If you go on the megabus website, it will show a bunch of bus schedules and you pick what time you want. I have done it a few times and left super early in the morning from White Marsh (around six or so), got to NYC around 9, went to the statue of liberty (ordered my tickets beforehand) and the 911 memorial, walked around and ate a nice dinner, then was back on the bus around 7 and home around 10.

I second the Annapolis suggestion. Also, you could go to Delaware (it’s sales tax free up there!) or Hershey, PA.
