Some of you will know I have been really torn about rings. I wanted an upgrade a few years ago and then regreted it, leaving me feeling guilty about asking for it, getting the expensive ring and also about not being able to wear my original ering which actually was much more me. Although I loved the beautiful velvety blue of my ceylon sapphire ring it wasn’t very blingy. I wanted to wear it but felt so bad about the upgrade not being worn and as it was a different metal and very ‘engagementy’ wouldnt have worked as a right haand ring. We finally decided what to do! I am wearing my original ering which I adore and my husband is having a beautiful prong set eternity band which will keep within the vintage style I love and add some bling. For a future anniversary he will use the diamonds to have a right hand ring custom made for me. Therefore I’m having the best of both! The situation has taught me a few things…firstly, not to jump on the trend train and change my mind about jewellery when trends change….secondly, I have the most wonderful understanding husband ever, and third, Im just not an upgrade person and am so sentimental that nothing else feels right on my finger other than the beauty my husband proposed with.
