I’ve been to a few. One ceremony started around 430 and another was more like 6pm. My wedding is going to be the same with everything at one location but we opted for a sunday afternoon. Here is what my timeline looks like:

230p: Ceremony

3-4pm: Cocktail Hour

4-7pm: Reception

Good luck with your planning!

Also having an all in one

5pm ceremony

5:30/6pm-7pm cocktail hour

7pm-11pm reception

This was the “latest” timeline they offered because they do all the clean up and like to have the reception space cleaned up by midnight.

@laylalayla:  Is your reception going to have a buffet or plated/sit-down meal?  From what I’ve been told, buffet style takes longer than plated.     Our timeline is: Wedding @ 5pm, Cocktails/Appetizers from 5:20-6pm, Dinner @ 6pm (Plated).

mine is also all in one location. Ceremony at 530, cocktail hour at 6, reception 7-11. i am considering doing the girls photos and guys before the ceremony and then photos together afterwards that way we don’t miss too much of the cocktail!!

My timeline is looking something like this…

2pm – Ceremony

2:30pm – 3:30pm – Cocktails

3:30pm – ???? – Pictures

5:00pm – Dinner

and after dinner…dancing =)

I wouldv’e loved a later ceremony but we’re getting married in the winter and we want pictures when it’s light out still. I thought about doing a first look but my Fiance was against that he said the first time he want’s to see me is when I’m walking down the aisle =)

If cocktails will be an hour, why have dinner right afterwards.  I say push dinner back 45 minutes to an hour.  give guests a chance to get hungry again while aslo getting some obligatory wedding things out of the way (1st dance, speeches, etc).
