we haven’t gone yet so i can’t tell you how it is, but if you want somewhere tropical i would look into staying in the dominican republic. we are staying at an adults only, all inclusive resort on the beach for 6 days in punta cana and are only spending $2,200. that price includes roundtrip airfare, trip insurance, shuttle service from the airport, and the resort itself. the riveria maya in mexico is also very reasonably priced. hope i helped!

We’re doing an all-inclusive in Cancu for a week for 1400 (not including airfare). I’d reccomend signing up for sites like Jetsetter and keeping an eye out for deals in tropical locations–that’s what I did and it saved us several hundred dollars.

Couples resorts in Jamaica. We are going to Couples Swept Away. They all come highly recommended and I did A LOT of research for AI resorts before picking Couples.

We aren’t doing an all-inclusive resort for our honeymoon, but we do holiday at all inclusives once or twice a year.  Personally, I love them, since when I vacation, i really want to do nothing but sit on a beach or by a pool all day drinking margaritas or champagne cocktails.

We tend to holiday in Cuba, so if you’re American, that’s not an option for you, however you can generally find resorts for <$3000, all in, for 2 people anywhere in the Caribbean.  I highly suggest researching a destination that you are interested in (i.e. we were keenly interested in visiting Villa Clara in Cuba, because of the numerous sites and cities that are important in Cuban history), then going to TripAdvisor to find a specific resort that matches your preferences (adults only, small, many a la carte restauarants, lots of activities, disco, shopping near by, etc).

I should also mention one thing that steered us away from CSS and toward Swept Away or Negril was that CSS has a fairly rocky beach. CSA and CN have soft sand. Not sure how important this is to you, but thought I should mention it!

@masterteee2013:  +1 to Cancun! I met DH in Cancun and its amazing everytime we go! They have soooo many quality resorts and the waters are fabulously warm and gorgeous!

The best part about it is the flight is usually less than 5 hours!

We have yet to go to the carribbean because the flights are always so long/annoying with stopovers and etc (from LA) but I SOOOO want to!

I cannot recommend Cancun highly enough!

They even accept USD for most activites/bars/tips – just be sure to bring cash.

I’ve booked through expedia, orbitz and bookit.com – just make sure to price check across the board, then read the reviews on Trip Advisor for the hotels in your budget, then check on YouTube for some videos of the resorts as those are almost as good as being there!

I loooove traveling and Mexico All-inclusive is prob my favorite kind of vacation!

@FutureMrsBess:  I signed up with Jetsetter and SniqueAway (the one I used for Cancun.) We’re staying at the Omni Cancun Resort and Villas. I don’t think it’s a nice as a place like Secrets, but it’s definitely less expensive and has most of the same amenities.

were going to cancun, we usually stay at a chain called park royal, love them, they’re in a few places, so check them out. cheaptickets got us flights/hotel all inclusive food /beverage and alcohol and a dinner cruise for around $2200 we’re adding some tours which will make it around $2300 or $2400-6 nights 7 days. We go all the time, so we know the chain and we know what to expect, they always upgrade us and just love them. Clean, Safe, Kept up, if you tip bartenders (even a buck or so once in a while) they will have your drink waiting. We looked into other places, but then we thought, this is where we love to go-so were going back! 🙂 been to the one in cozumel too, it’s pretty sweet as well, a little more laid back, snorkeling right off the beach at the hotel.

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort in Riviera Maya Mexico. All inclusive 7 nights, 8 days. Including air fare it was only $2500 for the two of us total. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
