dmarie917:  We are going to Secrets Maroma Beach in Cancun for our vow renewal trip.

Go to a travel agent for recommendations,  that is what I did. You don’t have to book through them but it helps to talk to someone that has been to the places and they can give you brochures.

The Dominican Republic and Mexico have some great all-inclusive options. Here are some luxury adults only I would suggest:

Dominican Republic (Punta Cana):

– CHIC by Royalton

– Breathless

– Excellence

Mexico:

– Secrets Maroma (Riviera Maya)

– Le Blanc (Cancun hotel zone)

– Secrets the Vine (Cancun hotel zone)

Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica seems to get positive feedback too, but looks a bit dated.

FutureMrsBex:  I agree. I stayed at CSS and it was very peaceful. They really do treat their employees nice and it shows in how their employees treat their guests. The food was pretty good.

I stayed at the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana and it was AMAZING. The food was to die for, the beaches were gorgeous, the rooms were stunning and the staff was top-notch.

Bosswedding2016:  I only just saw this now but thanks so much for replying! Super helpful. I’m weary of so many of these travel sites and which ones are reliable. This all sounds great!

We’ve stayed at RIU Emerald Bay in Mazatlan and at Secrets the Vine in Cancun.

RIU was an awesome value. Seriously, they are a great deal, but they are family friendly (not really our jam) and the food is really, really bad. They don’t seem to have any dairy which weirded me out. I basically ate nachos everyday that we were there.

Secrets the Vine was more expensive, but ooh la la! The food is great, the pools are awesome, and the decor is vair, vair sexy. It was perect for a couple’s getaway. The only thing I would warn about I’d that the toilet is behind glass with some frosting, but still totally can see through. Plus the glass magnifies every sound so there were a lot of “hey, babe, why don’t you go check out the views outside for a minute or two” to keep rhe romance alive hahahaha.

I did tons of research. TONS lol! And picked Secrets Maroma in Mexico. I ended going with a travel agent which ended up being cheaper in the end (though not by too much) then the websites I looked at. Plus we got free airport shuttle service (so we’ll have a driver holding up a sign with our name on it, yay), free cancellation, free upgrades to top shelf liquors, and a free honeymoon registry if any of our guests want to give as a gift (most if not all online registries have a fee).

Our room has a semi private pool right off our deck! So pumped.

dmarie917:  We met with a travel agent through AAA, who actually gave us good recommendations for places that others who have booked through her gone to – which helped the decision process a little.

I was dead set on trying to get a trip to St. Lucia, but she convinced us that the time it takes to get to the island added more days of travel, and we didn’t want to. She also told us that the Bahamas aren’t as warm in February as any place south of there. So, we decided on the Domincan Republic and I read online reviews for the 3-4 resorts she gave us and narrowed it down that way. We ended up booking with the Majestic Elegance in the Dominican Republic, and I don’t regret it at all.

I will second the recommendation for Couples resorts in Jamaica.  I can tell you about two of them..  we stayed at Couples Tower Isle for our honeymoon and visited Couples Sans Souci for a day.  The food at both was incredible (surpasses anything you’ll find in the Dominican and lets not even talk about Cuba). Sans Souci had a really nice beach grill where you can “take out” or be waited on.  Tower Isle has a “take out” pool grill, but they also have a juice bar with healthy snacks right on the beach.  Sans Souci is located in a bit of a cove, so the water is calmer and the general vibe of the resort is more laid back.  The grounds are beautiful and expansive.  Tower Isle has this old school Hollywood charm.  It’s smaller, but it seemed more lively, is known for more upscale restaurants (Eight Rivers was AMAZING) and that’s why we chose it.

Both resorts come with a ton of inclusions, including an excursion to Dunn’s River Falls and catamaran tour, and tipping is not expected by staff.

I don’t know about you, but I did not want any children around for our honeymoon so I would definitely recommend an adults-only result at the very least.

Loved the all inclusive at Aura in Cozumel Mexico.  Adult only, so it was peacful/calming.  We then booked our own excursions to fit what we wanted.
