We go to RIU resorts. There is bunch of connected ones in Punta Cana, Domincan Republic. It is atleast 4, maybe 5. You have access to all the restaurants, bars, activities and shows. We had a blast and it is relatively close for you

Since you’re in FL… any Caribbean AI resort would be cheap for you to get to! We honeymooned in Punta Cana at the Majestic Elegance. It’s not Adult-Only, but we rarely saw kids and were in the Elegance Club, which is the 18+ portion. The beaches, food, resort and entertainment were great! We always found something to do.

The Bahia Principe Ambar in DR was amazing… we would go back there in a heartbeat. Wonderfully kept grounds, adults only beach (they DO remove people who aren’t supposed to be there IMMEDIATELY), impressive food (at the a la cartes, buffets were good too!), bartenders didn’t skimp on the booze and it was about $1200 two years ago for us to go. I’ve had lots of friends choose the same resort and they’ve raved about it as well!

I’m assuming that being in FL the flights would be cheaper than it is for us flying from Canada, so you can probably find a good deal…

I really like the Iberostar Rosehall Grand in Jamaica and the SunPalace Cancun Mex.

Both are Adults only and we had excellent service

The best value for your money is in Mexico since there are so many of them there and there is a wide range of resorts to choose from! I highly recommend the Valentin Imperial Maya in Riviera Maya. We went there on our honeymoon and we are going back for our anniversary. I was able to convince 5 other couples to join us (they are all celebrating milestone birthdays and anniversarries). This resort has A LOT of repeat customers.

Wherever you end up going, have lots of fun! I really like AI resorts since I don’t want to worry about paying for things once I’m there, just total relaxation.

I find cancun had way more to do than dominican republic. We stayed at royal sands all inclusive. It was amazing! Great food. Great service. Great beach. I like Mexico better because of all the excursions within an hour away. I have been to Jamaica and also loved it. I didn’t stay in an all inclusive resort though.

When we stayed at The Royal Sands in cancun we had a 7 night stay in an ocean view suite and flight from kentucky for $1100 a piece. They were having an amazing sale on Expedia.

Good luck!

We went to Couples Tower Isle in Jamaica. It might be slightly over your budget but it was an awesome trip.

I loved Cancun so beautiful and amazing beaches. They also have a lot of night life and places to go. I also found it to be more ” Americanized” than other places in Mexico we had been in the past.

Missbigdreamer:  You are much better off searching via Expedia or TripAdvisor than asking on WeddingBee. One person’s opinion on here is not as valuable as the thousands of reviews and ratings on those websites. I would search for any four star resort with good reviews in your price range and book it! Which hotel is having a deal changes all the time, and they are all about the same.

We recently stayed at the Omni in Cancun and loved it. As other people have mentioned, Cancun is very commercialized so you can easily leave the resort to go to bars, shops and restaurants. However if you are staying at an AI there is really no reason to leave the resort.

Jamaica has more of an caribeaan island/tropical/relaxed feel. I was last there on spring break (in the cheapest place I could find) so I don’t have anywhere to recommend. Have a great honeymoon!

Le Blanc in cancun is amazing….not sure prices given you are so close but its on the high end (worth it tho!).  I second Sun Palace in cancun…adults only and pretty fab too.  In DR I would suggest Hard Rock….it’s so big it’s hard to get bored!

We stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres. You fly into Cancun and then you drive 35 minutes to the resort. It was perfect. I’m not sure if they are in your budget – we pulled all the stops and upgraded, but they are worth checking out for a regular room. They are adult only. Amazing food and drinks.
