@tbader:  We just booked our honeymoon in the Riviera Maya, Mexico at the El Dorado Casitas Royale–which is all-inclusive. Lots of pools + beaches, plus it’s close to Cancun + Playa del Carmen for outdoor activities. I’ve also heard Costa Rica is awesome for adventurous honeymoons. Oh, ours was close to 5k but we did decide to splurge on a room upgrade–there are definitely cheaper options available.

Good luck + happy planning!

We are going to Couples Negril in Negril, Jamaica.  We booked our honeymoon a year in advance just as you are trying to do and we were able to get the package for 50% off.  Our honeymoon cost us $2500 excluding our flights which cost about $900.  Our room is the beach front suite which is located right on the beach.  You may want to check those out.  Couples has 4 locations throughout Jamaica.  We booked through honeymoonsinc.com they were really helpful and nice.  I’m getting married in 23 days and I’m super excited about going on my honeymoon.  I hope this helps.  You may want to google all-inclusive honeymoon destinations as well.  Happy Looking Laughing

We spent 8 days in Cozumel at an all-inclusive right on the beach.  It was about $2500 and that included our flights.  We stayed at the Allegro and had a “royal suite”.  We LOVED every minute of it.  While we were there, we did an ATV ride one day, swam with dolphins another day (and a manatee!).  We were able to snorkel right off the beach.  We are certified divers, so we dove 3 days.  There are a ton of activities there to do for outdoorsy folks like you!

U can also check out Curacao or Aruba

Fiance and I went (not on honeymoon), the beaches are great, people are friendly, there are all inclusive hotels on both islands. I think you can budget between $2000 and $3000 for an all inclusive

Couples Negril in Jamaica is AMAZING!  it meets all your requirements and so much more!

EDIT: I just read the PPs after i replied and saw someone else also mentioned this place, that’s gotta tell you something!  Although, i have never been to Mexico but have seen enough pictures that i am dying to go to the beaches there and i am confident it would also be a fabulous vacation!  Rivieria Maya was our first pick to get married, but it didn’t work out. Jamaica was no compromise though!

Negril is indeed amazing! The Tensing Pen resort in Negril was one of our top locations when we had to decide on where to go for our Honeymoon

I just posted about them!!! MY Fiance and I went there last year and it was AMAZING!!!!

It cost around 3g for a week & that included flights!

We are a completely outdoorsy couple! We did the excursions to Tulum the Mayan temple!! We spent literally as much time as we possibly could on the beach 🙂 They have 9 restaurants and the service is impeccable!! It was walking distance to the beach and you can have dinner on the beach.. its AMAZING! Also they give u lots of freebies if you prove youre on your honeymoon 🙂 We didn’t get them but we did get complimentary champagne!

You really must look into it. I’m from FL and I’m always outdoors. Every weekend I have to do some sort of hiking trail or whatever just to “get out” so if you two are outdoorsy and love nature and the beach…this is the way to go! Plus they have fun events going on that you can dress up for 🙂
