Before dating my Fiance, I had spent most of my vacations throughout Europe and Oceania. He, on the other hand, is an “all-inclusive” snob and I have to admit, they’re pretty nice 🙂
For example, I’d love to go to Hawaii, but according to him, “they don’t have AIs” LOL and SMH
For those of you who are AI snobs, or just have some experience, do you have any suggestions for good AI honeymoon destinations?
We’re open to anywhere from Bora Bora, Tahiti, Fiji, Turks & Caicos, Aruba, etc. NO Mexico, please – not that it’s not great, we’ve just been twice in 2 years and going a third year in a row is a bit much.

We’re going to Saint Lucia… It has sandals resorts that are AI and we’re staying at La Toc. We would have much rather stayed at Ladera or Jade Mountain (I believe they have AI rates as well, but it’s $$$$) because it’s more romantic & secluded. But in the end we chose sandals for the AI scuba, water activities and food/alcohol for a price of a few thousand less!

mkebride2016: If you are adventurous and willing to go off-the-beaten path, my Darling Husband and I had an AMAZING time in the Philippines. Plus its really affordable compared to Bora Bora and FP.
I’m sure there are some AI resorts in Boracay as well, but we went to the Palawan area and stayed at Apulit Island Resort. It was so beautiful and the hospitality we received was truly top-notch. I actually cried a little bit when we left. It’s part of a chain called El Nido Resorts, and they have a few other top-ranked AI on TripAdvisor.
We met some travelers who had stayed at Amanpulo and they raved about it. It’s more aligned with Bora Bora prices however.

Couples Resorts in Jamaica are fabulous.

I agree, we had such a wonderful time on our honeymoon at Couples Tower Isle and visited Couples Sans Souci for a day and loved it there as well. We have already discussed returning to Jamaica but going to the other side of the island and staying at Couples Swept Away (and hopefully visit Couples Negril for a day).

Iberostar Rose Hall Grand in Montego bay was like nothing else… Top shelf liquor, Steak and lobster dinners and a butler who coordinated pretty much whatever we requested. (adults only)

mkebride2016: I’ve been to AI’s in Aruba (3 times), Jamaica (twice), Antigua, and St. Lucia. All were fantastic! In Aruba, we stayed at the Divi Resort, the rest were at Sandals. All had great food, large, spacious rooms, and were right on the beach. They also have a lot of opportunities for water sports and excursions if that’s something you’re interested in, though each island is very different. I have yet to have a bad experience in the Caribbean, so if you chose an island there, you should both have a great time!

Iberostar Montego Bay is awesome too! I forgot we stayed there a few years ago!

We are eloping to the Maldives because like you we go to places like Mexico regularly so it really isn’t special enough for a wedding.

- Wedding: Hawksnest Cove Beach St John USVI
We stayed at Dreams Sugar Bay in St Thomas and it was awesome. It included snorkeling, had a sushi / hibachi restaurant, French restaurant, and an Italian restaurant. Plus they have a great jewelry shop on site too that I got an amazing deal on my RHR.

mkebride2016: Darling Husband and I HMed in Barbados. It was absolutely perfect to us. There were almost no Americans (it was all British), it was very off the beaten path. Our hotel staff were all impeccable with everything. The resort was Crystal Cove and they’re owned by Elegant Hotels, who also owns like 4 others on the island. They will pick you up by boat and take you to dinner at all their other resorts, and the food was actually amazing. Everyday they had different fresh fish that was done totally deliciously. Their beach was great for snorkeling and other water activities. The water on the western part (where we stayed) is literally like bath water, super calm and warm of course. We can’t wait to go back.

I’m a luxury hotel “snob” (not really, I just loooove nice hotels) and I love boutique places not mega resorts. Sandals are way too big for me, we want seclusion in paradise! We got an AI add on at a luxury boutique resort in St Lucia with a perfect pristine beach, on a hundreds of private jungle acres (a former sugar plantation). Sugar Beach by Viceroyx. We got a private villa with sea/mountain view, outdoor living/shower/pool.
Jade Mt is gorgeous but it has open bathroom and not close or private beach access, both deal breakers for me!
