@Mrs. Penguin:  I appreciate your responses but in regards to #7 it still does not answer the question regarding the FB group. Do we need to be afraid that what we say in that group can get us banned here on WB?

Thanks to the mods/hostesses for working on the answers.

@Mrs. Penguin: To clarify, the admins do the actual editing of posts, warning, and banning, based on input from hostesses, moderators, and flags from the Hive?  Or are moderators and admins the same?

@StormyRose:  please review the thread by Mr. Bee that resulted in bannings of members in the past. Similar patterns of behavior that cause damage to our ability to effectively run this community will be dealt with in a similar manner. I have answered this question to the best of my ability.

@Mrs. Penguin:  “We will leave this thread open for one hour, as we welcome your thoughts and reactions, and then will close it. Thanks for being here with us this Friday. :)”

Why? Everybody is being civil. I feel like people still may have unanswered questions or would like to participate in the discussion without a “time limit”. This is obviously an important topic since so many people have expressed concerns.

What about upstatecait and hammerpants’s question? I think it’s page 5

Eta: I lied. It’s page 3 and 4 on the mass bannings.

@MapleMoose:  Ah, to clarify who “admins” are –

Both Bakerella and I are administrators of the site, as well as our tech team who don’t often interact with members unless there is a specific technical issue that they need to help solve with a member. No other members that you interact with on site are administrators of the site.

When I’m referring to “Admin” I’m referring to Bakerella and myself. 🙂 So to answer your question, moderators do “the actual editing of posts, warning, and banning, based on input from hostesses, moderators, and flags from the Hive”

I (admin) have the power to do so but rarely step in to do as such, as this is moderator territory. Bakerella (also admin) actively participates in moderation-type duties.

who are the other moderators? Is it possible to at least put up a sticky with current mods/hostesses?

@Mrs. Penguin:  I have read that thread, many times actually. But I am asking for clarification simply because I want to know if I should even be involved in another group at this point. If we discuss a WB post, then go post on that thread (good or bad), can we be banned based on that? If we don’t get snarky but still several of us disagree with the OP wuld this be considered banworthy. I am not asking just for myself here but for others as well.

Why does this need to be closed? That is so upsetting to me. An hour, on a Friday night, when most people in the midwest and soon to be west coast will be traveling home? Sounds like you dont want a discussion at all.

Also, why are people one or both titles? Having people be deemed a hostess and a moderator makes the hostess position seem like it has more power than it actually does.

And, my comment on the fact that essentially a small “approved” group of girls determine the outcomes of threads and the characteristics of the boards is inappropriate. That’s not a community. That’s a Mean Girl spin-off with nicer people.

@StormyRose:  If your offsite behaviour gets dragged onto Weddingbee in a manner that severely and negatively affects the the day to day activity here onsite at Weddingbee, as in the case of the bannings and occurrences linked to above, bannings WILL occur as they have in the past, if deemed necessary by admin.

@bakerella:  Sorry, I’m not being very clear – there was good bit of confusion earlier as to who was a hostess vs. who was a mod when the mention of off-site warnings by a hostess were made. You had mentioned in a post that hostesses can’t warn but it seems there isn’t an easy way to know who is a mod, as you all have Hostess listed on your avatars.

I mean, I assume that Gemstone, Lillindy, and MissAB are mods as well – but that’s only because I’ve been around for a while. It might be something useful for others to know as well.

I look forward to reading the updated version, it’s always nice to read about their non-Bee lives!

to me this whole thread is just causing more drama. we’re all adults here we can be civil towards each other while giving our opinion when we are asked.. sorry but this to me is a BIT SILLY.
