They are all white gold, princess cut with pave stones down the side like this photo. I am a yellow gold girl but I adore this style of ring but I don’t want to look like everyone else. I know the yellow gold will make it look different but it’s the only style I love. Should I still go for it?

Edit: my phone ate the rest if my post. I think the yellow gold will make it look different enough. So if you love t do ir

If you love it that’s all that matters.

If you love it, you should definitely go for it.
But why not go to a jeweler and ask if they can alter it a bit to make it a little different??

Get what you love! Don’t let anyone else influence your choices 🙂

If its what you want then you should go for it. If you want to seek out a jeweler and see if there another style/setting you might like more you could do that too. It might ease your mind. A princess cut in a pave setting is found everywhere. You could do a split shank or a twisted band. If you see those style and dont like it, then you know what is right for you.

I think the yellow will make it look different. What about a kite setting? That’s where the stone is turned 45 degrees, so it’s still the same stone and same band, but just a little different.

I was going to suggest a kite setting too. But if that’s the style you love, you should get it! 🙂

Wow, that’s very similar to mine, except my side diamonds (three on each side) are slightly larger and channel set, and my setting is platinum. But I love my princess cut center stone. I say go for what you love. Interestingly, I don’t know anyone who has a ring even similar to mine, all my friends have solitares or the three-stone. To make yours unique maybe you can find one a little different from your friends’ but that you still love just as much.

I’d say go for it! // You can mix metals, if you want. I’ve seen a few white gold with yellow (or rose gold) and they look very pretty.

I agree with everyone else…go for it!

hahaha all my girlfriends have this ring as well!!!
the reason is, of course, is that it’s stunning.

If you’re a yellow gold gal then get yellow gold! You can still have the head the holds the diamond in white if you’re concerned about the yg casting a warm haze into the diamond, which I know wasn’t brought up but it’s just something to think about if you’re considering yellow.
That style of ring is very popular and pretty. But I think it would look even prettier in yellow gold (not that I’m biased or anything)

I dunno, I would NOT want a ring identical to all my girlfriends. I realize that people always say “get what you want, don’t let othe people influence you!” but that, In My Humble Opinion, is just something people have to SAY because hardly anybody THINKS that without forcing themselves to. The reality is that other people’s decisions DO influence what we do, and if you want to be different, be different. If not, realize that your ring will be stunning – just like all of theirs, and there is nothing wrong with that either!
