I just wanted to write a quick note to all of the other brides out there about backing up all of your documentation/planning/ideas/addresses/anything to do with the wedding.
Someone broke into our house last night while we were sleeping and stole my purse. As if that weren’t bad enough my purse contained my ‘wedding’ flash drive. I saved everything to that drive and kept it in my purse so I wouldn’t lose it and it now I’ve lost everything.
While I feel very fortunate that nothing worse happened with the break in, I’m devastated that all of my months of ideas and plans are gone and I now have to start over. I don’t even have the list of people we are inviting or a single address. It’s the worst feeling.
So I would just advise everyone to store your information in two places perhaps on your computer and back it up onto a disc or flash drive. I would hate for anyone else to have all of their hard work stolen from them.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. My mother’s purse was stolen right from under her while she was waiting at the bus stop. They took the money, but left the purse. She was so grateful that someone had returned her purse containing her wallet which contained important information. I pray that someone will find your hard drive and return it to you.

Sorry to hear. I lost my “wedding” flash drive for about 2 weeks…..thankfully I already had all my addresses off of it as well as the budget backed up.
Check your web history, might be able to find your pages and if you sent any of the files to friends you can go back through you e-mail.
Thankfully no one was hurt but those little flash drives can sometimes contain a large part of our lives!

Thanks everyone…we are safe and doing ok. It was scary and unbelievable that someone could do something like that. I’m trying to focus on the big picture in that we are safe and have each other. He’s been such a rock through this ordeal and I am very grateful. The task of starting all that wedding stuff over again is ovewhelming but we’ll get through it.
@MsBrooklynA: they hit more then one house on our street. we all got up to realize our garage doors were open and we didn’t leave it open. so somehow they got the garage open, came into the house, saw the purse, grabbed it and ran back out. Unreal

OMG, I’m so sorry! 🙁 I hope you were able to freeze your credit cards and everything!
I suggest brides use Dropbox. It’s an online storage solution that can be synced to any computer and smart phones; it’s what I’ve been using so that I always have access to my wedding stuff. I believe you start with like 1G online and get more space for inviting people. I’m up to 2.5G.

Wow, that is awful! I hope you are ok and that you’re getting everything sorted out (credit cards, insurance). That is truly terrible!!
