@TheRen:  hi,i think its a mistake to choose a drop waist to hide the lower belly when infact it will highlight more since it stops right under your belly!!best shape for all plus size bride like us is an A-line,,you wont do mistake with it..also depend what shape you are,,ar u pear or square,if u are like me with straight hips.so waste line not so define, dropped waste is bad,,but if u still have an hour glass figuere then might work,,too risky, try one first on with dropped waist and see,,or just go safe and chose a dress with a true waist..that stops right little below your waist,,and that skirt flares out from hips right away,,it will flat your tummy and balance figuere..good luck

@MrsH1010:  i think all those what you chose are maybe not the right for plus size,,at least on me they would look bad,,plus if u are big chested stay away from those they will make u look pregnant…when its an empire line dress…those dress yes hide your tummy but dont show any waste so hiding sometimes make us look bigger…i see those dress more for skinny thye look great in it,,or pregnant women,,,go more fore a a-line,,skirt that flares out from hips and u wont mistake, ball gown ar bad for us.will make us look huge and short…unless u are very tall…full a line skirt ,,or more lie a trumpet but nothing tight around our hips…chose a built in corset dress then u wont need one,,,mine had and makes my tummy flat…and i got a huge belly…soo…have a look to mine so u know what i mean…

I’m a size 18 would-be-hourglass-but-huge-hips-make-me-a-pear myself (like, 42-36-FIFTY) but my little sister is an apple and she goes for corsets all the time and looks great with little puffy cap sleeves, they’re pretty and soften her shoulders. At my prom one girl had a corset made for her locally and added an awesome skirt so maybe that’s an option too!

I usually wear about a 16 in street clothes and this dress is a 22 I think.  It was the one and only dress that I didn’t feel like a “plus size bride” It is also the only kind of dress I said I didn’t want!  The salespeople know what there doing, so be open to suggestions.

here you go girl 🙂 Im a street size 24. Here is me in some of the dresses I tryed on. Im a big girl and still had alot of fun with dress shoping! Im not gonna lie there were disapointments but overall I had a good time 🙂 Good luck dress shoping! Just keep an open mind. Sometimes the dress consultant will pull something that you think would look aweful but then you try it on and your like WOW I look great! Just try everything you can and have fun with it 🙂  First three dresses were at davids bridal
