If you have the time:
I bought myself a 4 wheeler around a month ago. Fiance and I along with all of our friends are really big into 4 wheelin and muddin. I have always used someone elses bike or rode on the back with Fiance. We planned to do this WV trip since non of us have been there and its supposed to be amazing for ATVs. So I decided I wanted to join in on the fun and buy myself a bike. So I did. From a private seller, thats pretty normal. I needed to get a radiator relocation kit for it so I could go into the mud and not mess stuff up. It already had snorkels…or so I thought. Our neighbor is awesome with fixing anything mechanical so he has been fixing my bike up. Found out it had a cracked engine block that was JB welded (not good.) Aside from that everything looked good. Bought a new skid plate for the bottom, new faceshield for my helmet, oils, bolts, just a few items to get it ready to go….find out the snorkels arent hooked up properly…basically if I went riding and it got wet Id really really mess my bike up. So he bought the parts and fixed it. After it was all said and done I spent $300 on just parts and labor for my neighbor. Not including what I paid for the radiator relocation kit and skid plate ($310) We took the bike out for a test run last weekend. Battery dead….needs to be rejetted…needs airbox clamp….oh..that sound…you need new axles for the front…BOTH sides!!!! OMG!!! Battery- $112, Overnighted jet kit $80, airbox clamp – $5, two new overnighted axles – $325. Finally get the axles last night, neighbor doesnt get home til 9:15 so I have to wait til then to get him the axles. Fiance gets a text from neighbor saying he needs to come over. I go with. Guess what…..WRONG AXLES!!!!!!!!!! We are supposed to leave in less than 12 hours from then. Fiance ordered the axles from a dealership 2 hours away and went over with the guy 3 times on exactly what we needed….We got axles for a LIFTED atv (Mines not lifted so they were too long) and both were for the same side (I needed one for each side) So at 10 last night I found out that all this planning, time, energy, MONEY was for nothing. I cant go on the trip since I dont have a bike, Im not broke as hell, You cant double ride up there cause of the law.
I dont think I have ever been this disappointed. Riding season is almost over. Pretty sure no one will be going back to WV for another year. Now here I am stuck making payments on this bike and I dont even get to ride it.
I am going to take all this as a sign that I shouldnt go up there with all them. For what reason, I dont know. I hope I get a call for an interview or something cause Im really upset.
