most of the top five waiting bees on the list have been there since I came on the boards ….. and i’ve been married for almost a year.

You can’t ask US to comment on your guys humour  ….. how old is he? Does he have his finaces in order?

I have been with my boyfriend for three and a half years and NO we haven’t been ring shopping. I know it can feel overwhelming on these boards where many bees are at, but, NO NOT ALL OF US ARE INTO THAT or have done that yet.

It sounds to me like he was just joking around with a friend. Maybe he can’t propose right now because of financial reasons and he was being sarcastic with his friend because its taking forever to obtain that kind of money.

i think he didn’t mean to be disrespectful. he was just joking around with his friends. if i were you, i’d simply bring up marriage.

Boys say stupid things in front of their friends to make it sound like they’re cool, and in the same boat as everyone else. Don’t take it to heart sweetie, my Fiance still says stupid things to his friends – he’s just being a man! I’m sure he loves you to the moon and back. Plus you gotta think if he wasn’t committed to you, you wouldn’t have moved across country with him – right?

Hey, look at it this way – you can’t be procrastinating on something you have no intention to do.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, my SO and his best friend joke all the time about marriage with each other (both in relationships of around about 4 and 1/2 years) they’re always challenging each other and propose and rubbish like that. Just being silly (to be fair, SO and his best friend are so childish together!)

I’m sure SO didn’t mean anything by it, certainly no harm. If you’re interested or worried about it then go and talked to SO about it. you don’t need to mention that you heard that conversation. If he knows he’s been procrastinating then the idea of marriage has come into his head and obviously given it some thought. I don’t know your SO but perhaps he doesn’t know how to do it so he’s taking his time over it, longer than he needs to.
