Hi Ladies! I’ve been lurking the TTC board forever and am finally posting. I’ve learned so much from just reading so thank you to all of those that have been sharing!
There’s so much waiting involved in TTC! I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced similar things to me and whether I should worry about them and go see a doc or just ride it out:
- Got off BCP in April, had a regular period that month and then another exactly when it was expected in May. In June had light brown/pink spotting for 2 weeks and no period. In July had a regular period exactly when it was expected based on May’s. What the heck? I’ve NEVER spotted in my life before TTC!
- This month had light pink/tan tinged discharge for a week around when FF predicted I would ovulate (last week) and then on Sunday I had a spot of bright red blood on my pantiliner and when I wiped so I assumed my period was starting a week early (should be getting my period next week). The next time i went to the bathroom, there was no blood. All my spotting has disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this?
- I think I suck at charting my temps: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3dfbad According to this, I have NOT ovulated this month yeah? Bah!
Do docs really expect us to wait til we’re trying for a year before coming in about stuff? I’m wondering if my spotting is a sign of hormone imbalance that needs to be addresed? My doc said to come see her in a year if I haven’t gotten pregnant.
Good luck to all those trying for a baby! 🙂

@PacNWxLove: I understand the frustration. I am on cycle 2 after being on BCPs for the last 12 years. The last 5 of which were Seasonique. I had a 27 day anovulatory cycle after coming off. I’m currently on CD8 and Fiance left this morning and won’t be home for 10 days. I’m already wary of wishing away my life two weeks at a time. We’ve decided to fast-track the wedding plans so that if I do get a BFP soon I won’t be obviously pregnant at the wedding.

I am not real familiar with cycles after getting off the pill except many girls periods can be really wacky and take awhile for them to ovulate again. I think if you ever have concerns for anything go see your OB. Good luck!

@PacNWxLove: I am in the same boat. I feel like its been one big wait to TTC and now we are its all waiting!
We needed to wait until after we were married to TTC so I was waiting for the proposal, then the wedding and now finally we are TTC! I have cycles all over the place that regulalry go over 50 days so it feel like most of the time I am waiting for my period to show up. Like @Sugaree: says you have to be really careful not to wish your life away. I am organising lots of fun things to do with my Darling Husband that I know I wouldn’t be able to do if we had a little one or were pregnant. Last night we went to a wine tasting event then out to a really fun dinner. I am trying to focus on having fun with my Darling Husband and enjoying the life we have right now.
I spoke to my doctor about my crazy cycles and she said come back in a year if you are not pregnant. I went to go and see her about 6 months ago and I am glad I did as I can tell a white lie and say we started trying then which means I only have 6 more months to wait before they could run some tests. Otherwise, I will look for a new doctor.
I hope things work out well for you 🙂

I know the feeling! While we’re not actively TTC at the moment, we’re tracking my cycles. This one looked to be on track, ovulation at same time as the last one. Went through an immense amount of stress in the last couple of weeks with my mum passing away, and guess who hasn’t arrived yet. AF is MIA – and there would be only the most miniscule chance of it being for a fun reason (the one time we did it during the fertile period, we used protection). I feel bloated and PMSy and keep expecting AF to arrive every time I go to the bathroom.
May be a different wait than the more exciting ones we’re expecting to do in future, but it still sucks.

Thanks for the comments ladies!
@Sugaree:I hope you get a BFP soon! Don’t focus too much on the waiting aspect…I hate waiting but I’m trying to keep doing fun stuff and keeping busy so I don’t focus too much on how much i hate waiting! haha
@mrs.stormylove:Thanks! yeah I’ve heard the same thing about weird cycles after coming off the pill. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long for my body to figure things out!
@Sea_bass:It’s so annoying waiting for AF to show up! It’s funny since before TTC and before going on the pill I would hope that AF didn’t show up because then I wouldn’t have to deal with feeling crappy! Now I just want her to show up already so I can try again haha Darling Husband and I aren’t completely obsessing about TTC–we’re still going about life as normal but still get annoyed by the whole waiting thing…and every time we look at my chart hahaha
@sweetmamam: I’m so sorry to hear about your mom! *hug* I’m sure the stress from that has an effect on AF showing up. I know how you feel about the PMSy bloaty feeling–I’m always expecting her to show too! I hope your cycle tracking looks better than mine…I’m starting to think I suck at taking temps…how is that possible? LOL
