@ANewMrs:  I hear sometimes it takes a bit to ovulate off the pill even with perids. I have heavy flow and bad cramps but ovulate normally ( I have also only used the pill once for 3 months ten years ago). You should visit your gynecologist for answers.

@ANewMrs:  When I got off the pill, my periods were regular too, but I had no problem with O’ing.  I O’ed just fine.  I would check with your doctor just to make sure its the pill thats causing this or maybe something else.  I hope you get answers.  Also, I never heard of the pill afecting O’ing, I only heard that affects cycle length…GL

@ANewMrs:  Well the pill makes it so you don’t ovulate and I know women who have come off of it after such a long time being on it, it takes 6months+ sometimes to regulate. GL and if anything, just call your Gyn and see what they say.

@ANewMrs:  I think it’s pretty common for your cycle to be messed up, even anovulatory, for a while after coming off BC. I don’t know how mine was because we weren’t TTC at the time, and I wasn’t charting.

Not getting a positive OPK is not that big of a deal, I don’t think, because you could just be missing the surge. However, if you’re charting (sounds like you are) correctly and aren’t seeing a sustained temp shift, then you’re probably not ovulating YET. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen in a cycle or two. You should discuss it with your doctor if you’re concerned. I believe they can check your hormone levels throughout your cycle to determine whether or not you O’d, and obviously they can do ultrasounds if necessary.

@ANewMrs:  Temp to be sure.  I never got positive results with an OPK but I always had a confirmed O with temps.

I would use the OPKs twice a day rather than just once.  I only got a dark result with my OPKs once I started doing this.  I think it is easy to miss them I guess because it isn’t positive for long.  Also, maybe your temp shift just isn’t huge.  Can you draw a coverline – does your temp stay above it after your OPKs have had a line on them?

I had a few annovulatory cycles after the pill. My cycles lengthened and then seemed to even out/show clear temp shifts. My periods were really heavy on the annovulatory ones.

@ANewMrs:  I’d say your coverline would be somewhere between 97.0 & 97.5 depending on if you consider day 20 an outlier. Unfortunately, no ovulation yet from the looks of this chart but it’s still too early to tell.

Yeah, FF isn’t giving you a coverline because of CD20, I bet. Right now your coverline would be at 96.9 if you disturbed CD20 and at 97.4 if you included it. No O yet though.

It appears to me that you did ovulate in your January cycle. So it’s not in your head! 🙂

I think your probably just going to have a delayed cycle this cycle. Don’t worry! Your body is probably still adjusting from being off the hormonal BC. Keep charting and OPK’ing, it will soon become like second nature. GL!
