I had a hard time finding one too – FH was worse.

All rings looked weird on his hand, his hands aren’t large and his fingers are a weird shape (I’m really mean…..) we went to a jewellery store a couple weeks ago, the guy asked to see FH’s hand and immediately picked the perfect ring based on the size/shape of his hand, it looks like it belongs.

I would go to a jewellery store and ask for help – they know what they’re doing, and just try some on, when you find the right one you’ll know it ๐Ÿ™‚

I think a half or 3/4 eternity would look nice

I had the same problem. All the bands I looked at just wouldnt cut it. Most were too thin for my band, but i finally found one that suited me. Eventually I will get a bingy anniversary band. But for now, I am very happy with it.

For me one of the things that makes a difference is making sure they are the same height- matching profiles. Although it can look really good on other people, it drove me crazy. Your beautiful ring looks like the band has a slight dome to it, so maybe look for a band that mirrors that? I love rings with diamonds and never thought I’d want a channel set band but I just ordered one because I think it is the only one that will go.

Our rings are pretty similar.  I had a band made for me ๐Ÿ™‚

I personally loooove single prong bands with round solitaires. Have you tried one of those yet?

Here are some of the sets I tried on in store…

mixtapehearts:  I love your ring! first I’ll echo what other pp said, 1) try something that matches your band shape with the dome and 2) go to a nice jeweler store and just explain what you don’t like and see what they say.

Have you you tired prong set? There are shared prongs, single prongs and bar set.  Maybe pave band?  And you may be shocked but the ct weight can change the look of a band a lot.  You may hate the look of a .2 tcw but love the .3 Tcw Of the same number of stones just because of the little size difference.

Your most likely just going to try on a bizillion bands lol.

Here is my official set:

mixtapehearts:  I was like you, nothing seemed to look right. I wanted a channel band but it just didn’t go with my ring. I ended up going with a shared prong band and it looks perfect. (for reference, it looks a lot like the photos at the top of NEAM2014’s post.)

why don’t you want an eternity band? comfort reasons, or resizing, or……?

Have you looked at split bands/two thinner diamond bands? It may solve you ‘diamonds don’t look right’ issue if you have one on the other side to balance it out.

I was adament on different bands because i wanted to get something different than the band on my ering but my husband kept insiting that we should get a match because he knows the lack of symmetry would bother me. I wasn’t convinced because my ering is Chanel set and I thought it’d be too chunky because ever store we went to the rings were wider so I couldn’t visualise it. I ended up getting it custom made by the jeweller that made my ering to the exact same specs. I’ve never looked back. Moral of my story. Try.try.try. You may live something you originally didn’t. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nothing looked right with mine except a plain gold band. That’s what I ended up getting in the end!

I think picking a wedding band is hard. It was much harder than I expected it to be when I started looking for one to be part of my current set. Previously, I only had a wedding band — a thicker metal one with a design on it. Anyhow, when I started looking, I thought it would be such an easy thing to find.

I also agree with what a PP said about the size of diamonds in a band. I tried on some that had smaller diamonds in the band, and they seemed totally overwhelmed by my ERing. Ones that were larger felt like they were too big or out of place next to the ring. I ended up with a band that was smaller than I expected, but I felt the two rings complemented each other well. My Darling Husband said he thought the wedding band was too small, though … so we might end up getting something custom-made in a year or two. >.O

Anyhow, I’m not sure this is any help at all … but just wanted you to know you’re not alone. LOL
