DoeEyes :  If this was a wedding of a close friend, or even a not so close friend but other friends of ours would be staying all weekend, my husband and I would love it and would totally stay! I think it’s a super fun idea.

I think it depends on a lot of factors. Are people going to be drinking? Smoking? Are events going to be widely shared, or spread by word of mouth? Is the food available going to be decent, or is it going to be fast food? How much will it cost? Are there cars, or do I have to deal with uber?

I went to a friend’s wedding weekend and while I had fun, by the time I got home I was exhausted because people stayed up so late drinking making lots of noise, had irritated my throat from the heavy smokers, and not feeling my best because there was never any food, we just kept getting fast food carry-outs. If she hasn’t paid for our accomadations, I honestly would have stayed in a regular hotel where I could get breakfast included, instead of having to buy donuts from a convenience store.

DoeEyes :  my best friend did this.  I don’t know how many people stayed the whole weekend but we stayed the night of and had a blast.  There was a huge bonfire with games and it was just a lot of fun.  You just need to ge ok with people who might not want to stay the whole weekend,  and it sounds like you are. I also didn’t feel obligated to stay the weekend so I wouldn’t let other people’s inability to say no factor into your decision on whether to go this route or not.  There are always people on here who have a time simply declining an invitation and that’s on them, not you.  As long as you’re not pressuring people, and it sounds like you’re not, then you are good.
