janelka25:  Right now I alternate between these two very similar sets, one in WG and the other in RG, none of which is part of my original set.  Neither DH or myself put a lot of sentiment in the rings themselves; to us is more of a visible symbol of being married, that I truly enjoy wearing.

I have many choices of marital bling.

Pictured here is the w-band, upgraded e-ring, 3rd a-band, 12th a-band, and 15th a-band set. These are just a few to choose from since we’ve purchased (or inherited) other bands. I just switched out my marital bling to my 12th a-band since I just painted my nails dark silver for Halloween trick or treaters, and I thought it looked cooler with the 12th.

My rings are the originals and I have no others. Granted, we’ve only been married 1.5 year, so I may decide to switch it up on down the road, but for now it’s hard to imagine wearing anything but this set.

This is my wedding set! I added a spacer because I love the stacked look but also didn’t want to take away from my engagement ring. My hubby already bought my anniversary band but can’t wear until August… I may add more bands for a stacked look on my right hand eventually!

When DH and I got married, he picked out a wide wedding band for me. It didn’t go with my ERing at all, so my ERing went into the jewelry box for many years. Then, when I got pregnant, I gained a LOT of weight. My original band didn’t fit any more and couldn’t be easily resized as it’s an eternity design. So, for several years, I wore plain silver bands. Over the last couple of years, I rediscovered my love of jewelry and all things blingy — especially rings, which have always been my favorite. I lost some weight, too, so now my original wedding band and ERing both fit (sort of — they are actually too big now, lol) again.

Sooooo … long story longer, I switch stuff out and around and mix and match every which way. I am sentimental about my original rings in that I would never feel comfortable getting rid of them or melting them down or something like that. But I’m not sentimental about having to wear those exact rings and only those exact rings. DH also doesn’t care, so long as I’m happy and look “married” when I’m out and about.

We’ve been married for 17 years (just had our 17th anniversary earlier this month), and together for a total of around 25, so that might be why I don’t feel as much of an attachment to wearing my original rings.

Some of my different sets:

Original ERing with a fairly new (about a year old) band:

For our 17th anniversary, I had my ERing redone a bit. Sort of a “facelift”, where I replaced the two diamond baguettes (which had always bothered me because they were set improperly and so always looked grey) with blue sapphires. I also just recently ordered a 3mm YG heavy comfort fit band to wear when I want something a bit more plain than my scroll band.

Anniversary Set: (a gift from DH for our 15th)

And my rose gold set, which is a London Blue Topaz solitaire and plain RG band. The solitaire was a gift from DH for hitting a weight loss milestone.

I mix and match my wedding bands, so sometimes I wear the RG with the platinum ring, the platinum band with the YG ring, the scroll band with the YG ring, etc. I also have a 5-stone band that was a gift for our 16th anniversary and a WG .5CT half eternity band I originally bought to go with my anniversary ring … but then ended up not in love with the look. I still wear that one sometimes, though.

This is my original wedding band:

longtimemrs:, I’ve recently face-lifted my w-band and my 1st Christmas a-band (see below). My hubs smiles at my love affair with bling. He just wants me to be happy and for my finger to look married.

I wear my original engagment ring and original wedding band everyday. I aslo wear a band in the middle that I switch up depending on my mood. I’ve tried other rings in the past, but they never had the same meaning to me so I’ve stopped.

I only have the one set and I love it, I may add an anniversary band if hubby decides to get me one like he’s been talking about (that won’t be for like 10.5 months though haha)

I never knew lots of people had different sets to switch up. Well why not huh?

im not married yet (June next year) but weve got our bands ready. Of course I’m new to all this and feel all sentimental about this plus we are having a little ring blessing with our family and friends as part of our ceremony so I can’t imagine wanting to swap.

Ive got fairly small fingers/hands and I think my finger is pretty much full up with ering and wedding ring so any further bling will have to go On the right hand (if I’d be so lucky)

Thanks; I <3 it, too!

My marital bling started out a bit patchwork, since we got an e-ring/a-band with graduated stones that I originally expected to stack with 1-2 thin w-bands. Then we were gifted my parents’ wide w-bands. I couldn’t stack the wider e-ring with the wider w-band. The e-ring became a RHR. I felt torn because I really wanted something solely from my hubs on my wedding finger. I found that marquise band in a CZ catalog, loved it, liked the price, mentioned it to him once, and was surprised to receive it for our 1st Christmas. I count it as marital bling even though the hubs didn’t gift it as an anniversary gift. The other day, almost 16yrs Christmases later, I finally had the CZs switched to diamonds. It’s an early Merry Christmas! to me, bling!

🙂

I suppose you probably didn’t care about the backstory, but, I’m partial to it.

eta: whoops, 17 Christmases later!

Oh, oh, oh; I’ve not seen your Jackie ring before. Lovely! She had an east-west marquise band, mine is likely patterned after hers, but hers had emeralds.

NFLwidow:  Oh thank you! I had no idea what her band looked like! I have not been able to find it on the internet… and I spend a good deal of time looking…
