I’m not in healthcare, but I had pinkeye a few times as a kid.  I doubt it would be pinkeye, as my eye would always have lots of yellow crusty stuff on it after waking up.  If it doesn’t get worse, waiting until your appointment should be fine.

Don’t use visine!  The cheaper allergy drops cause a rebound effect.  Use cromlyn/opticrom if you want some relief until your appointment.  An oral antihistamine should also help if it is allergies.

I’ve also had a clogged tearduct from allergies, which can just cause your eye to get really dry and irrated.

I’ve had pink eye twice in the last couple of years. If the Visine made the pink go away it’s not pink eye. But you could have a regular old eye infection. Have it checked out just in case.

Keep your appointment. If it gets really bad, go to Urgent Care.  Dosn’t sound like pink eye to me.

I agree with PPs, it doesn’t sound like pink eye.  I’d keep your appointment even if it clears up, because maybe your doctor can prescribe you some good eye drops in case it happens again (if its allergies, it’ll probably keep coming back…).
