I’m hoping someone on the boards can help me! I am very interested in the Allure dress style 8717 from the Spring 2010 collection. I have called all around my region to bridal stores, and none of them carry it, and Allure does not have a loaner program to try it on. I have seen it on a model in a runway show, and really do love it. Does anyone know of any other ways that I could try on the dress without flat out purchasing it? Would I be insane to try on a bunch of dresses similar to it, to figure out if I’d like it, and then order having never seen it? I think I’ve seen that Watters has a similar style of dress, but that is probably out of my price range. Any help at all is greatly appreciated with this!

Ahhh, I have the same problem. I ordered the dress and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it looks good on me. I couldn’t find anything quite like it out there for the price. Any pictures of the real thing would be appreciated.

I would just call around to different salons and say you’d like to try on something as close to this as possible. Look for a mermaid silhouette in taffeta. It may not have all the particular embellishements or details, but at least you’ll get an idea of how that shape and fabric together look on you!
Good luck with your search! I tried on several Allure gowns and they’re all beautiful and beautifully made.
