I think that the bridesmaid dress colors can also make the gold or champagne look more rich and luxurious, or more dirty. Some baby blues, for instance, can make the color look a little dingy. I think darker colors seem to look better with the champagne/gold. If you have an idea of what you think the BMs will be wearing, that might help your decision.

Probably also wise to consider the groom’s tux/suit. But just by itself, I think both color combinations look gorgeous.

Thank god for this thread. I’m freaking out because we went with the Casablanca 2127 in blue and you can’t tell its blue at all in the pictures from the salon! I was freaking out. But after this thread I’m not freaking out so much now.

lr0901 :  I agree! I personally prefer the pinkish tone of the champagne over the yellowish tone of the gold.

Also, the cost of the color change is pretty steep. For both reasons, OP, I’d keep the champagne. 🙂

Hi bee,

I wore a champagne and ivory allure gown and had all the same worries.

I was worried about clashing with the Bridesmaid or Best Man and their grey dresses and about my dress looking too pink in the photos.

However, in hindsight I wouldn’t change a thing. Everything looked great (in my very biased opinion!)

ps….great dress choice 🙂

I think the gold is gorgeous. I’d be going for that – $375 isn’t much when you consider the overall cost of the wedding, and the dress, and that this is the ONE dress for you ONE wedding ever.

Sorry if pic is huge I’m on my phone. But yes I had this same concern but when I went and picked up my dress I remembered why I chose the champagne/ivory version. Has such a warmth to the color and also gives the skirt so much depth. Almost like highlighting your hair vs not highlight/lowlight.

mrsvaldez :  it is allure 9254…it’s wasn’t even steamed yet in this pic.  I’m steaming it myself and it looks soooo much better! Can’t wait to share a pic when it finished.

Omg I just realized the MJ155 was the one dress I could t find! Lol. I think it’s the one like mine but it sparkles. he lack of sparkle was the one thing I would change about my dress.  I found out about it one week after searching for something like it but I was running out of time.

I don’t like the one on the left, for me too yellowy. I like the right one which I guess is champagne? But it depends on your taste and colour scheme. I am a bit in love with champagne dresses with lace overlay, they really have a beauty.

I think it’s quite important to know what kind of photographer you’re using. Post some of their work! Example-  If you go for a soft romantic natural light fine art photographer all colours tend to get softened and whitened a bit, evern champagne or light blue will look ivory in many cases, but if you have a moody high contrast documentary type of photography, everything will look darker and colour will be more accurate to real life. I’m not a big expert but just consider this as a factor.

lovemangopop :  glad you got a great deal on the custom color I normally wouldn’t have mentioned a price difference but $225 is a huge price jump for a just a few months time!
