Umm you need to call her and tell her this is not acceptable. She gave you a date and then said never mind and now has not reached out at all. You need to reach her immediately and be more firm. Tell her it’s been 5 months and you need them ASAP.

Is there something in your contract that mentions when the photos will be delivered?  If so, I think that is a good place to start the discussion.  This is a really long time to wait for wedding photos.  Does this person have other clients, and have they gotten their photos?

Call them and give them a deadline. Tell them you will post reviews about this all over the internet if they don’t meet your deadline.

nerk :  Call them and give them a deadline, and say that if they passed it, you will venture to legal path to get the photos per agreed contract. That’d be strong enough to push them, but less risk that they can sue you for slander on social media (I know it is their fault, but still..).

I wouldn’t threaten them. Give them a deadline and quote from the contract to demonstrate their failure to uphold their end.

The scary truth is they have the power because they have your memories. So be clear and precise with your expectations of delivery by x date at x time.

If they don’t respond, that’s when you’ll be forced to escalate but even then, you can’t force them to give you your pictures so tread carefully until all hope is lost, which I hope doesn’t happen.

nerk :  do you have a signed contract? Does it specify the time frame pics need to be given to you (the client)? Breach of contract is illegal and I’d raise hell lol

Phone and try to be polite to start with. I presume you picked a photographer that was well reviewed and there wasn’t any red flag reviews. Give them the benefit of the doubt to begin with – something may have happened such as an accident or family death which may have distracted her from completing the photos. Be firm that you need a deadline that they will be completed by however and ask for a few sample images of what she’s already finished.

As PP have said, check the details of your contract and be prepared to take it further if necessary, just dont get nasty about it – she’ll be far less willing to give you the photos if you are.

nerk : She’s avoiding you for a reason. I hope it’s not because she lost or ruined your photos.  I would show up at her door  *today*!

I unfortunately had to wait for my wedding pics too, but only by 2 weeks. I’m sorry! I hope she gets you the pics soon. Otherwise it’s totally unacceptable
