Hello Fellow Weddingbee bloggers and browsers!! As the countdown to our wedding day ticks away, Mr. Twinkletoes and I are doing a whole lot of planning and trying to nail down (Still!!) official colors, decor, etc. I am in LOVE with dahlias and zinnias, and want our wedding decor to reflect our beautiful sunset engagement colors… reds, oranges, pinks…. and BLACK! I am trying to avoid a red/black only wedding by using black as the main color (table linens, etc) with pops of color to accent. Our wedding is outdoors in a garden, while the reception is inside a large chapel, which has some harsh lighting and architechture. Through votives, twinkle lights, and lots of greenery/flowers I hope to soften the appearance of the room.
Here’s some of my inspiration: bridesmaid dresses and invites:
Alfred Angelo Style 7060- beautiful floral design that would look great with a bright red bouquet
Invites from http://www.partymax.com- a family friend and great place to order favirs as well 🙂
I have also recently fallen in love with the mason jar lanterns and vases so many brides are using. I have played around with glass paint and paint pens to see how I can make the “glow” reds, pinks, and oranges. Has anyone had any success with this? All of the rumors about them exploding kinda scare me, but if the paint is specifically for glass and they’re cured in an oven, will that happen?
Also, the rental fee includes chairs and tables. The chairs are a little “instituational” (as my hotel managing brother decribed them), but I would hate to spend money on chair rentals when they have been offered for free. Any ideas on how to cover them? I think the black table linens will help mask them, and as I think back on weddings I’ve attended, I can’t even remember the chairs! But I would like to soften their appearance as well, if possible. Here’s a shot of them with white linens, so you can get a good look.
