flattered? I mean it doesn’t take anything away from your ring to have another like it.

I guess this would depend on how unique or how popular the design is.

In general, I think it’s pretty flattering, but I also think it depends on what my e-ring looks like.  (I can’t see being surprised that someone else liked a white gold solitaire too.)  My cousin told me that she wants an engagement ring exactly like mine (which is a vintage setting with a sapphire).  I was thrilled and sent her all the links I had stockpiled from when I was looking.

Yep!  It’s happened to me too.  I just made sure that we had totally different wedding bands to change the “final” look….

There’s not much you can do at this point.  Once the ring is bought, it’s pretty much forever. 🙁

I mean, it depends how it was presented. If she was like “You know how much I love your ring and admire your style, you inspired me so much to get what I want” as opposed to “Hey, look at the great idea I came up with all on my own!”

I would have VERY different opinions, haha.

Lol, those are so similar, you’re definitely not crazy. Sounds like your friend was probably jealous.. Jealous you got engaged before her, jealous of your ring. If one of my friends did that to me, I probably wouldn’t be able to NOT say something like “WOW that looks a lot like the ring I wear!”

they are definitely very similar, (the only difference i see is that hers has halos around the 3 stones.)

but at the same time, so what?  It doesn’t take away from your ring.  I would just take it as a compliment that she liked yours so much that she wanted something similar.

Wow, your ring is beautiful, both the stone and setting are gorgeous.  You’re right, the rings are pretty similar, but the most similar part is the center stone flanked by two pears, and that isn’t so uncommon that I’d be stunned to see two friends with it on their rings.  Though the bands both have diamonds on the bands, they’re very different, yours being two rows of paves and hers being channel-set princess cut.  Also, hers has a scroll detail on the side and yous doesn’t, and like Meowkers said, there’s the halos on hers.  I wouldn’t be too bothered.  For the record, I think yours is prettier. 😛   And all your friends will know you had yours first!

Hmm. They look very similar, but it isn’t as though either ring is truly “different”. A center stone with triangular flanking stones isn’t SO rare, and it’s obviously beautiful. If you had some extraordinarily different avant garde design, i’d be skeptical, but that’s a design readily commercially available.

She copied you big time LOL!  But IMO yours is nicer without the halo around the center stone.  Your ring is huge and gorgeous!  I think anyone you know in common will see that she copied you since your ring is pretty distinctive… I wouldn’t worry about it, just makes her look weird.
