I lost my voice on Tuesday during school (I started the day being able to talk very softly but things went downhill during break) I left school early that day to go to the doctor who booked me off for the rest of the week.
It is now Thursday, my voice is starting to come back- but I am still very soft and croaky and can’t form certain syllables. Should I return to school tomorrow (Friday) or should I rest and then go back on Monday? Sensible me says rest otherwise the laryngitis will just get dragged out, conscientious me is asking what I’ll do with the kids to catch up with this week’s work.
(the principal would probably want me back at school- he was already reluctant to let me leave on Tuesday. He gave all kinds of suggestions on how I can teach without talking! )

I would follow your doctors orders and continue to rest your voice, there’s no point going back early and then over using, and taking longer to recover!

Why are you posting this on a wedding website?

mohbestie : Why are there posts about ttc, babies, cooking etc etc? She is asking a question in the wellness section where she is supposed to. Are you confusing her with a student because it is pretty clear she is the teacher in this scenario.
timonandpumba : If your doctor says to stay home then you probably should.

mohbestie : Because Bees have a lot of sense/good advice and I was on the non-wedding related section
j_jaye : anev : I think I’ll probably stay at home- the conscientious me will just have to live with it until Monday I guess!

I damaged my voice enough so that it took me over a year working with a specialist to get it back. Stay home!
