Oh, I feel your pain! I bought my first dress because I loved the DRESS, but I really didn’t love the way it looked on me. Finally one my friends dragged me out to try on a few more, since she said I should have the "wow" factor. I found it an Ulla Maija couture satin gown, in the $5500.00 price range. WAY out of budget!!
I did some research online and I found this service called bridepower. They have a number of samples dresses in stock (of course, not the one I wanted), but they also have a gown locater service. You tell them the size and color you need the dress, they charge $50.00, and try to find your dress at a discount of at least 40% within 5 days. If they can’t find it, they refund you the $50.00 service fee. They found mine in 2 business days for $1900.00, charged $30.00 for shipping, and I had it within a week. Of course, it needs to be tailored a bit, but all in all I’m saving a lot of money, and they were incredibly easy to work with. Highy recommend.
Once I had the new dress, I sold the older one on Ebay with no problem, so I ended up with (most) of my money back from that one as well, and now I’m really happy with my dress!
