@kayberry: Moving to a new house is always stressful, and if it doesn’t even come with a stove it must be ever more difficult!

As it seems important to your Fiance that you help out, can you unpack some stuff when he’s at work? Or start painting something if you’re thinking about doing stuff like that? Sorry… not sure if I’m helping at all here… I just feel bad for you and hope it gets better soon!

Surely with a 30,000 budget you MUST be able to have a beautiful wedding.  You’re in Windsor, not the yukon!

First, think outside the box.  Youre wedding is in June, so in Ontario youre fairly good as far as weather is concerned.

You will need to have the wedding an hour away, if you are not happy with having a hall type wedding. The guests really wont mind driving an hour!

Ive only been to that area once, but there seemed to be alot of farms …maybe you could find a barn that has been done up to hold events? Or rent space at a park, or in a feild and have tents and flooring and catering.  Our friends did this outside of Ottawa and theyre whole wedding only cost them $12,000.

Does any of either of your families have a nice property?  Could you hold the reception there?

Do the vineyards allow you to hold receptions?  You can also shuttle people to the wedding if the hour is a big concern.

It doesnt sound like you want a Destination Wedding…s this is when you get creative!

Also look into renting out a really nice restaurant…some of them cater to private functions!

You will find something. I was the same way… stressign out over the venue.

This is the hardest part of the planning (at least that is what I found). It will be easier and more fun once you got this figured out 🙂

@kayberry:  All of my extended family (cousins, aunts etc) are from Windsor and we’ve been to some nice indoor weddings. Are you sure you’re looking at the right places? My cousins have had weddings indoors with good food, open bar, photography and everything and its only been about $15,000

Shoot me a PM if you want me to find the name of the hall my cousin put her deposit down on for next year, she’s getting married in Windsor in April of 2014 🙂
