I’m 8 weeks pregnant and already feel the need to wear my maternity shirts. Not because my regular clothes aren’t fitting but because I feel HUGE. Never in my life have I felt so huge witout being able to eat anything. (No, seriously…it’s almost 4pm and I haven’t been able to eat anything..) But the funny thing is that my pants are actually fitting better (I went down a whole belt loop last week!) I don’t know if it’s my boobs or what’s going on..
How soon did you find yourself in maternity clothes?

With my son, in the first trimester. With my daughter… not until towards the end of the 2nd trimester, but she was ALLLL baby and my son, well, he wanted the world to know he was there, lol.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Some women start wearing them the moment they get a bump and others like to put it off as long as possible. Do what feels good and what you’re happy with.

i was wearint maternity shirts by the end of my first trimester. i wore my pants until almost the end of the second trimester with the bella band. And I’ve been wearing tights the entire time. I’m going to burn these clothes as soon as I have this baby!

I am wearing a maternity shirt right now, and I’m only just over nine weeks. OK, I don’t exactly need it, but my mom and I were shopping and I came across this really cute long sleeved tshirt that is SO comfortable that I bought it. I was just trying it on and it was so soft that I am wearing it under my sweater and contemplating buying another 10. As far as need based clothes- I am feeling pretty bloated. I don’t think I’ll need maternity for awhile but I am guessing I will have to go up a size by week 12-13.

Most of my shirts were big enough to last me a while. I’m 18 weeks now and currently wearing a normal shirt, but I do have some maternity. Pants on the other hand… I could have worn them pretty early but waited until 12 weeks to actually go out and buy them. Until then I wore belly bands and elastic skirts.

I went out and bought maternity work pants pretty much right around week 10. It was the bloating that got me…felt like I suddenly had muffin top in every pair of work pants that I had. I am so glad I did buy maternity pants though because they are so much more comfortable than regular ones! I’m totally going to continue wearing a few of them too because no one will know the difference!
I also bought a few baby-doll and longer-type sweaters and shirts that were NOT maternity but passed for it once I got bigger, and was able to wear them right up until 8 months!

Most of my clothes were big enough to last me through the first trimester.
My friend just brought me a huge tupperware of maternity clothes and some you can’t even tell they are maternity so I’m wearing them now (15 weeks).

I’m 17 weeks now and down to one pair of jeans that were really big before. My shirts are mostly okay since I wear them long and layered anyway, but I wore a t-shirt the other day and noticed that it was too short! Ack!
I’m in denial otherwise bc I hate shopping, but am soon going to have to buy some pants. My one pair of stretchy cargo pants is soon not going to fit much longer.

I have about 4 pairs of maternity pants. I bought them WAY before I needed them but they’re pretty comfy. They’re pretty much all I wear now.
I got all freaked out about wearing maternity clothes so I challenged myself to put together at least one cute outfit per week (I write about it on my blog). Thru doing that I’ve actually found a lot of non-maternity clothes that are roomier.
It’s kind of helped me not feel so bad about expanding – just knowing I look cute one day a week 🙂 Althought I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it thru the end! I may just end up wearing a bathroom and slippers by then.
