@HisNightOwl2014:  That’s a really good price if the photographer has talent. My lady was $800 for the night, which was an amazing find for us… she was a little low on experience, but she got some amazing shots! I’m sure it’s similar for your photographer. Great find!

I am not sure about other photographers and “normal” but I got unlimited engagement pictures, unlimited bridals and full day wedding coverage PLUS all of the rights to my photos for less than $1,000….

    PLUS she did unlimited editing…

The number one thing I can recommend is to find someone who gives you the all the rights to your photos.

I think a lot goes into pricing out wedding photography: where you are located, how important quality photos are to you. This seems rather on the low-end but I’m in an area that a half decent photog is going to start at around $2500 and thats just hours. Great photography is expensive to produce so the more qualified the photographer the more they have to charge. If quality photos are not that important to you then you should choose by the price. If they are then make sure you LOVE the work your photog is producing and make it work. Hire the best photographer you can and worry about the stuff like albums and prints after the wedding. There is A LOT of really great advice over on the photo board: http://boards.weddingbee.com/board/photography

that’s super cheap, for such long hours too! our e-photos alone (6 hour shoot) are gonna cost over $3600. but photography is THE most important to me, so I don’t mind spending more, and I’m guessing our actual wedding photos will cost well over 5k. if you like his style, it’s a super deal!

That’s a GREAT price!  We had our photographer for 10 hours and that cost us $3000!  And I thought THAT was a decent price…. 😛

This is only a good price if you love their work. I’m a little suspicious as it seems way too cheap for a seasoned professional.

@photogestelle:  Agreed. Id be afraid of that price.. way too cheap for that kind of coverage & extras.

OP where I live that would cost at least $3000, usually more around $4000 and I dont live in a big city..

Well it tells me it’s an amateur photographer.  But it’s just a number, and it’s impossible to tell you if anything is a good deal unless we know what sort of work is coming with it.

That’s….crazy cheap. I don’t actually see how the albums could be that cheap if they are using a professional level service instead of shutterfly, adorama, etc. The photog is likely making little to no money.

The album price is about what my photographer was charging for them, but other than that, it’s all really inexpensive. If your photog has a nice body of work to show you (and you like it!) then I’d definitely go with him/her.

Seems pretty inexpensive to me so I would think they are just starting out.  I’m paying $3000 for 9 hours with 2 shooters and all pics on a disc (no albums or prints).

So I can’t say if it’s a good deal without seeing their work.  If you love their work then I say it’s a great deal!  Cheaper photographers tend to be hit or miss in my opinion so make sure you like what they do.

Im going to agree with some of the other bees. Photography (and on a budget) was my priority (I mean, I spent hours and hours and hours looking through blogs and emailing potential photographers.)  This photographer’s price is quite low imo. If thier work is good, you scored. I would just really be worried about the quality from a photographer of that price. Make sure you go through their blogs, look at samples of their work and ask to see a full wedding they shot (not just their best shots.) We are paying $2300 for all of our photos and 5 hours of coverage.

Can we see a website of this photographer?

I did not want to choose the “awesome” option because those prices (to me) look like “too cheap to be a pro-photog”

OP – I would be very wary of this photog – look up all the reviews you can find online, check with the BBB, etc.  My first pick for a photog had what I thought were “amazing” prices too…turns out he was a scam artist and we lost $$ (luckily we got another, very awesome photog for our wedding).
