Okay bees, I’m at cruch time here. So far, I have lost 30 lbs and am very proud with it! However, I get sized for my dress Tues. Nov. 30th and I’ve been fighting to lose as much as I can by then. Now, Thanksgiving is NOT on my side lol
But, if I can get some motivation … or advice on how to lose more weight (other than my diet of eating 5 times a day healthy meals); I’d appreciate it!!
Also, question about fitting: if I lose more weight after I get fitted (not an extreme amount, but another 10-15 lbs) typically will they be able to handle that when it comes back in January? (Married in Feb.)

I can’t help on the fitting Q since I’m far off from that yet, but one tip that almost always help is to drink plenty of water. It keeps you hydrated (and looking nice and healthy) and also makes you feel less hungry. Over Thanksgiving, maybe eat your big Thanksgiving meal broken up into the 5 smaller meals you usually have (ex- biscuit and cranberry snack, turkey with some stuffing and relish/veggies, a later serving of some mashed potatoes/gravy). Then you get the full Txgiving dinner experience but not all at once with additional snacking before/after (what I always end up doing! haha). Congrats on the 30lbs off! That’s impressive!

i need motivation too! i have lost 15, and now i only have 5 more to go! but i stopped losing about a month ago! i have until february before my dress comes, so maybe i am thinking “oh i have lots of time to lose 5 pounds!” but that time will go by fast, especially with the holidays!
i think you motivated me by your 30 lbs loss! congrats!!
i lost my 15 by seeing a nutritionist and she got me to keep a food journal. i find i always stop losing when i stop the journal. not sure how that works, but somehow it does! you just gotta right down everything you eat. you can fill it out at the end of each day. and don’t leave anything out! maybe it works because u really become aware of every little thing. i think sometimes i refrain from “adding more” because i will have to write it in the journal!
ok, i just motivated myself to start the journal again, maybe i motivated you to try it?

Thanks guys!! Actually, I lost the first 20 lbs on Nutrisystem and after 2 months of it – realized exactly what it does. So, I started my own and lost another 10 lbs. Its been an ongoing struggle and I’m still nowhere near what I WANT to be … but, still very proud of where I am.
Motivation, yes!! And we all still need more!! @purpleUnicorn – definitely keep working at it, you’ll be surprised at how quick those other 15 lbs go! Good luck! and thanks bees!
Any other tips like @jillieb is appreciated!

Do you exercise? If so, what?
those that suceed and maintain weight loss exercise.
In terms of losing weight before thanksgiving. do what you are doing and add exercise. If you lose too much it will be muscle instead of fat and that will work against you in your long term weight battle.
Its a life style, not a temporary change so choose wisely. Choose meat, veggies with out a lot of bad fats and a little bit of mashed potatoes or stuffing. Fill up on the “good” stuff
