I am not a fan of illusion in general, but the dress is gorgeous.  I certainly don’t see any reason why you can’t remove the illusion bit.  I think it’s likely though that the straps will sit lower on your shoulders.  I’m not a seamstress unfortunately.

Is there enough structure in the dress for it to stay up without the illusion? Talk to a seamstress.

clairedough32 :  you would need to be careful about how much illusion you are removing. The back piece needs to stay or else you won’t have anything keeping the bust tight

I just did this with my dress, very similar to yours!!! I go for my second fitting may 18th if you can hang on till then I’ll send you pictures! My neckline was a little less visible than yours but similar structure and I altered it to just barely trim the lace.

Its it’s hard to see in the second picture in the front but if you zoom in you can see the little yellow pins are where they’re cutting it

Pretty dresses!! So glad I found this! I actually want the same thing done and I wasn’t sure if it would be possible. My dress is very similar to both of yours. I do not like the illusion neckline at all. I want it kind of v neck like the third pic.

littlebear91 :  My dress is also very similar!! I pretty much want the same thing done. You are keeping the illusion on the back right?

natasha1196 :  yes!! We’re only cutting it out of the front and then keeping the back with the buttons as is! So glad my seamstress recommended it to me because I probably wouldn’t have thought to cut it in the front.

natasha1196 :  Just have to say that your dress is BEAUTIFUL! To me it looks perfect as it is. I love the neckline just how iti s. I’m baffled as to why you would want to change smething so lovely (but each to their own, hey!)

Oh my gosh, you are the first weddingbee dress twin I have encountered!! Personally I love the illusion so I’m not sure I’ll be much help, but I wanted to say hi 😊

annalisek :  hi! Yes!

Its by Morilee! I got it from a retailer in south Florida called Bridal Cotoure of the Palm Beaches.  All of that designers dresses were stunning and fit me so perfectly.

Heres some photos of it from the big day! I got soooo many compliments and it was super affordable.  (1500ish)

littlebear91 :  I hope you see this soon. I have your exact dress and I went for my second fitting and I am having issue with the caps. I cannot lift my arms higher than my shoulders!?!?! Did you have any issues with this? I spent all weekend so upset I called today and am going back in tomorrow hoping she can figure out a solution. When I expressed my concerns on Friday that it was ripping when I lifted my arms up she said I was overthinking it! I hope tomorrow goes better. Let me know thanks
