Can you tell me how much it cost to get your dress altered? I’m kind of angry at myself because I’m a size 0 or 00 usually, but they woman insisted I needed a 4 to fit the girls in (a moot point since I quit breastfeeding!!)
I got the dress over a year ago and I swim in it. I know, I should have called them right away but I’m 99% sure they would tell me no exchanges anyway.
When I took the dress home they begged me not to take it anywhere but there (david’s bridal) to be altered. I read that David’s Bridal charges an arm and a leg… what’s your experience?
How much did it cost to have your dress taken in a few sizes? This is the dress By The Way:

Where I went it didn’t matter if your dress was going to be taken in 1 size or 10 sizes. It only cost me 55 dollars to be taken in, Davids Bridal quoted me WAY more than that, I believe over a hundred.

It’s a gorgeous dress. 🙂 DB policy is that if you take it somewhere else to be altered, they won’t fix it for you. If DB ruins your dress, they have to replace it. That would be the one thing to be aware of if you want to take it somewhere else. I did not have mine taken in, but I was told it would be about the same price for what I did get done: adding a corset back, which was about $90. I also had the bustle added and I think it rounded out to about $150.
I’ve also read people complaining that their alterations are more expensive, but then someone says how much they paid somewhere else, and the price is comparable to what I paid. However, I think it might depend on your location. DB should have a price list in the store; you can call and ask.

I’m needing my dress taken in in the bust and possibly hemming it and I’m looking at 100-200.
No bustle, no taking in anywhere else, and it’s only 2 layers of hemming.
I wouldn’t go with DB for sure.. they’re outrageous, definitely ask and shop around
