My alterations were about $400.  That included shortening it which had to be done from the waist because of the ribbon trim around the bottom of my gown, the bustle, and letting it out around the chest area, redoing the underarm area..  I loved it when it was done!  She did a great job and I was very happy with my gown and very comfortable the entire night.

You need to take it to someone who has experience working on wedding gowns. If you look online you might be able to find reviews for alterations people in your area

My alterations were close to $400 and it fit amazingly. I had so much done to it – sweetheart neckline, plunge back, hem, bustle, taken in, add boob pads – so I think I paid a fair price. You need alterations because it will fit your body well!
