ah my mom was telling me about this the other day!
she called the shop where she bought her dress (Claire’s) and ask who their go-to person is. they told her to call the Brandywine Tailor shop. (or something like that)
He’s an older Asian guy who does work on Miss Delaware’s dresses, apparently.
My mom made an appointment with him for her dress. I still haven’t decided what I want to do.
If you want more info about this guy, feel free to PM me and I can ask my mom.

@September29: thank you! my sisters and i all bought our prom dresses from Claires, and they recommended me to Sofia. I didn’t end up buying my wedding gown there, but was seriously wondering who they were now recommending. Thanks for the tip!!!

@WoodenShoes: I was just wondering what you ended up doing? I also would like to get my dress altered in/ around Wilmington or Newark.

Just posting this comment for future brides searching for alterations in Wilmington area as I found it difficult to find recommendations for seamstresses. I used Perfect Fit by Olga and found her to do good work at a reasonable price. She operates out of her home in north Wilmington. She has a website you can find by googling and it pretty responsive with emails and phone calls.
