@thumpurr:  Its a seperate charge….unfortunately! My alterations were an additional $300 to have it taken in, hem and a bustle!

There are some bridal botiques that include alterations with dress purchases, I don’t think its very common though. I’ve only found one by me that does it, but I only went to three different places.

My alterations were a separate charge and you should ask them how much they charge when you purchase.  You can probably shop around for a good price if the quote is too high from some bridal shops.

I’ve been told $300-500 but that’s usually higher than most girls end up paying.

@thumpurr:  One bridal salon I went to “included” it in the cost but I dont know if she had a higher mark-up. Every other salon charged extra. My dress will cost an additonal $475 in alterations. When the salons tell you the price they shouls tell you the cost of alterations especially if it is a flat fee.

@thumpurr:  Oh tell me about it….we just had a Destination Wedding in St Thomas in Oct and had 25 people…..adds up really quick!

I too have big boobs and had to go up a size to accomodate them and have it taken in in the waist( which cost more) I really should have went up 2 sizes thou b/c I still had too much boobie but oh well at least hubby loved it…..LOL!!

I def suggest when you go for alterations to do a sit test in your dress! Make sure when you sit you aren’t spilling out up top! The corset top will be your best friend with a larger chest!
