I’m getting my dress from DB and they have their own alterations dept. They quoted me the price for alterations before I said yes just to make sure I can afford all this. However, I believe they said it was going to cost $120 for the dress to be hemmed and between $45-$55 for the bustle. I’m thinking I don’t need the dress to be hemmed though. I tried it on without any shoes. I’m coming for my fitting Sat Aug 11th (with my shoes). I don’t need anything else done except that. The dress fits like it was made for me 🙂 My material is satin though so the embroidery may affect the price.

I had embroidery around the sides that had to be cut as well, but no tulle.  I paid $130 to have it sized down from a 10 to 2, cups added, hemmed, and 13 pt bustle.  Here’s what my seamstress was working on

It depends a lot on how many underlayers your dress has as to the price of the hemming. If there’s a lot of tulle layers underneath, they have to go in and shorten each layer individually, which takes forever and costs a lot more!
