I lost about 2 dresses sizes since ordering my dress. So the pic on the left is when it came it and it’s way too big. The pic on the right is from my first fitting. Huge difference (to me at least), it gave me shape again.

@80sbee:  No I meant, I went from an 18 to a 14, two dress sizes that way.  So even zipped up my dress completely slid off me.  That’s why my arm is being held funny in the first picture, I was partially holding my dress up and trying not to move.

@80sbee:  Thanks, I fell in love with it all over again after my fitting.  Once it actually fit again, all my doubts went away and it helped that I had my veil and accessories then too, so I actually saw a completed look.

This is a wonderful post! I hope more people contribute! My dress is sitting sadly in my closet until time for alterations. At this time, I am hoping alterations can put me back in love with it.

Mine was altered from a 10 to 2/4.  It felt really good on, and secure, but it wasnt as smooth and flat over the hips as I would have liked.  Overall I was satisfied, and moving around, it wasnt noticible, but in my pictures, it bugs the hell out of me – nothing photoshop cant take care of though!

I’d love to see more examples!  I have to alter my dress quite a bit, too.  I’m a street 8/10, My dress is an 18 (couture sizing), I just tried on the in-store sample of my dress, an 8, and I’m somewhere inbetween.  I’m super nervous that I probably have to go down 3 sizes!  hopefully I can post an encouraging pic in the next month or so! 🙂

Mine is currently being altered from a 10 to a 2 since I bought my dress at a sample sale.  I’m scared too :-  I’ve got faith in my seamstress though… I think.

    This is my comparison photo!

The left photo was after losing a solid 50lbs. The right photo was at my heaviest.

They took about 4 inches off my hips, 2 off my waist and 1 at my bust.

    My final fitting! =)

I had my dress modified quite a bit. It was taken in, had a modified neckline, etc. I got in for a great price, although all the changes made it a bit more pricey than I would have liked.

Here is the dress the day I bought it-

and here is the dress the day on my big day:
     and
    and just one more..
Good Luck! It’ll be perfect! 🙂
