It needs to be let out a little and then it will fall very nicely. The dress is beautiful. Crepe is just unfortunately a hard material. But I really think letting it out a little will make a huge difference.

It definitely looks way too tight in your hips and I would be extremely frustrated if I were you!  Your posture is not the issue.  It looks absolutely beautiful in the picture where it’s just pinned.  I hope she left enough fabric to let it out a little!

Also I want to tell you not to feel bad at all!!  The seamstress messed up and blamed it on your posture instead of taking responsibility to fix it.

Agree with pps about adding heavier lining, but also wanted to mainly say you look super awesome in it!!! The material is a nightmare as far as clinging, but even if you don’t get it perfect you’ll look amazing! Because how it is now you look great!

runbmc :  definitely do not feel bad, go back and get her to fix it to where it should’ve been in the first place. The seamstress clearly messed up and tried to blame it on your posture.

Seeing the pic of the sample and the pic of you in the almost final product it’s really clear the seamstress messed up. Not your fault and you should get what you’re paying for.

If the seamstress can’t let it out enough for it to flow over the tummy/leg…maybe you could consider having the lace continue down the front, ie add more lace to the dress? I think this would help camouflage the too tight areas if required and would look nice too. Ps the back of the dress/train is really pretty!

I don’t understand the PP saying they cant see anything wrong, especially while you have the time to change things, you need complete honesty.

You are a stunning lady, no doubt about that, but it’s too tight in places you don’t want it to be and looks unflattering. That’s not to say it’s your body, because on the picture of it before alterations it looks a million times better. I think when dresses are ill fitting it makes them look cheap, which is also highlighted by one poster thinking you bought it online.

Dont panic though, letting it out over your stomach and thighs will really help, and as one poster suggested possibly adding lace might disguise some areas that you’re still not 100% happy with. Do you also think it’s a little tight over your bust too? they look like they’re being squeezed above your dress a little? So it might be worth taking it out all over?

keep us updated and dont let it go until the seamstress adjusts it to the way you like it! You paid for full alterations after all! I’m sure you’ll look amazing on your big day!

augustbride19 :  I agree, absolutely dont let the seamstress off the hook. She messed up. You’re gorgeous and deserve a gorgeous dress. If they cant fix it, I’d demand a refund or new dress. It’s not your fault she messed up the dress.

runbmc :  oh, yes, possibly! Can they let it out a little in the belly area? I’ll bet that would help. Otherwise it fits you nicely.
