I need one too! I have been on the hunt…there are a few on yelp.com but I am not sold on the idea of giving my dress to someone who doesn’t do only bridal.

While I was shopping at the Bridal Garden I met a woman named Julie who supposively works magic and even creates bustles.  Her number is 917-363-2066.  I am going to call her tomorrow to make an appointment and find our pricing.  There is also a list on nymag wedding summer edition with seamstresses but I curious to see how expensive they are:)  I’ll let you know if I find out…

Good luck:)

She quoted me $75-$125.   I called around all last week and most wanted $200+ She is taking mine down a size and adding a bustle…but she is very open and nice.  I am sure she would consider a budget…  I found her info on her from another bee then googled reviews–all good. I know she works at a salon in the city but I am not sure which…may do this on the side.

I’m doing mine with a private seamstress in Brooklyn. She’s always done my alterations and she’s the only person I trust will do a good job. Although I haven’t gotten a quote yet, I’ll be surprised if my alterations hit above $150. Let me know if you’d like her information.

hey, i am in brooklyn, and once used the lady at the weddingdresser.com. she was really nice – i used her for bridesmaid dress measurements for myself for a wedding i was in, but maybe she is worth looking into? Not sure much she costs though.

Just wondering how your experience with alteration is going? I am still on the hunt…
