I would be knocking on her door or calling every day.

This seems very unprofessional and personally, I would go pick up my dresses immediately and (provided she hadn’t actually started any of the alterations) demand my deposit back.

If that isn’t the way you want to go then I would at the very least go there in person and tell her that she has until 5pm on 4/16/15 (or whatever date is like 1 or 2 days after you go there) to get back to you with a written final balance and estimated date for pick-up.  I would also want it written somewhere that if the dresses were not ready by the pick-up date then you don’t have to pay the final balance or something like that.  If she is unwilling to do this, I would take my business elsewhere.  And remember that even if she does all of this, there is still a good possibility (based on her previous actions) that your dresses will still not be ready in time or that the alterations will be rushed and not done correctly.  So I’d say continue working with her at your own risk.

I would definitely go pick up the dress right away and take it to someone else. So sorry that’s happening to you but you really shouldn’t let her continue if she is this unprofessional! Do some quick research for other seamstresses and check the reviews!

When I took mine in, they were able to tell me how many hours work it would take and what it would cost straight away so yes I think you should definitely get your dress back and go to someone with better reviews – preferably with a facebook page and before and afters that you can look at.

shirin.salehi.752:  in 6 weeks you didn’t hear anything ? I would be livid at that point. and the fact that she couldon’t remember you dress? I would be very worried if I were you. just go get your dresses back find a local seamstress that will do your alterations and take your deposit back.

good luck!! I Hope she doesn’t do anything to further worry you
