So, I love my White by Vera but it really needs to be hemmed so I am not tetering in way too tall heels on my wedding day. 🙂
Here’s a couple pics:
So, I have been thinking… I would really love to turn the neckline into a sweetheart. I found a picture of a VW351011 altered into a sweetheart neckline and I really think it looks beautiful.
(The photo above is not me)
My question is… I have no idea how much alterations are going to run. I planned on letting my DB do the alterations bc there is a woman there who has apparently worked on many designer dresses, including the more expensive Vera line.
Does anyone have any idea how much it would run for the neckline to be altered into a sweetheart, the hem to be taken up, and possibly the back lowered? Thank you!

@lovelea: I’ve seen a bride on WB do this. Hopefully she finds this post and can help you! I love the sweetheart alteration for this gown!

I’m getting my neckline altered to a sweetheart, different dress altogether but similar style.
Expect to pay about $75-$150 for this, and I’m sure you can find a skilled seamstress outside of DB (they may not alter the designers original design).

@lovelea: All up it cost me $80 to get a bustle, sweetheart and the neckline turned into a sweetheart. However I am in Australia so it might be different in the US. However, the cheapest part was the neckline~ $40.
It is only one stitch pulled down. Worth the money I think. I am thinking about lowering the back, but I am worried about how the zip will be cut. I have no clue how that part is going to work out. Have you done this yet?
