I will need mine taken in 2 sizes from a 12 to an 8. I have my appt on Saturday and I’m skeered at the cost. Especially since my dress is all lace.

I had mine taken in about 6 inches, and you couldn’t tell to look at it! Be careful though, alterations are pricey. To take mine in, do the hem and bustle it is $450.

ETA: I just realized your wedding is in December, why are you doing alterations so early??? I didn’t start until 2 months before, just in case you have any fluctuation in weight (which I did due to stress!)

The dress doesn’t look big on you at all.  I’m sure everything will be fine.  You have a lot of time left until December.

@cherryblossomlove:  i know how excited you are but you may want to wait a while before getting it altered.  your wedding is in december.  get your alterations about a month or so before that.  if you have an appt scheduled, you may have them give you an estimate of what it will cost and maybe get it hemmed (it’s already bustled).   until you decide on a crinoline, your hemline could change too.

i got really sick 6 weeks before the wedding and lost a lot of weight that i couldn’t regain so my seamstress had to alter my dress the week prior to the wedding.  she was rushed and it cost a lot of extra money.
