angel2206 :  Changing the wait to be dropped can be possible, but you’d need a professional seamtress to give you an idea of how it will look. It may also be costly. I imagine you may be able to tell that the dress has been changed and didn’t originally have a drop waist if it is not done properly. As far as adding sparkle, You can have beading hand sewn to the mid section and bodice instead of a belt. I think an overlay on the pleats would not look good. Perhaps you can add an overlay to the skirt starting where the pleating ends.

I know you must have saved a lot of money to purchase this dress the way you did, but keep in mind that the alterations being more than a simple hem or take-in will add up.
