Well, I had my fitting last night and I’m really excited. When you haven’t seen your dress in months or at all(only saw the sample) it’s an amazing feeling. But I’m trying to figure out what to do. I’m converting the top to a sweetheart neckline for sure. But I have to decide rather to cut the lace that hangs over the top of the dress to give a more defined sweetheart or not to. I really want it defined and that was my original plan. But last night the alterations manager and my mother told me that it was prettier and to leave it. I just want it really defined and old hollywood…I feel the lace blurs that. What should I do? I put a few pictures. 1- from last night w/bolero 2-sample from when I first tried it on…shows it pinned the way I’m thinking of doing it. 3- stock photo showing the lace I’m talking about that hangs over.

This is really hard…both ways look VERY beautiful! I think you need to be true to yourself, if you really want a dress with a sweetheart neckline…GO FOR IT! It looks great with the style!!! When it’s all said and done, you want the dress to be they way you have always imagined it!!!

Both ways look amazing! I would personally leave the lace because I think it adds to the feel of the dress for me, but if you think that you want a more defined sweetheart then go for it! I think it’s more important to go with what YOU want, that way you won’t regret it. 😉

Your dress is gorgeous! I think the dress looks pretty either way. Personally, I kinda like the lace detailing at the top!
Also, I LOVE your bolero. Where did you find it?

I actually really like the lace how it is supposed to be. I Think it looks beautiful and I dont think it will take away from the sweetheart at all!

Thank you! The bolero is from the seller bonzie
from etsy.com. They are an aunt and neice design duo from Ireland. That one is the wedding bolero de la gabriella.

I know your dress very well we sell Watters in our salon also. I would suggest to leave the scalloped edge at the top. The hem line of your dress is finished in a scalloped edge also so it matches with the over all feel of your gown. So I agree with the seamstress, I think you should leave the lace but I do like it cut down into a sweetheart. By the way, you look great in that dress! Congratulations & best of luck!
